Hi,

May be a repost as my original disappeared.

I have a Sanya 125CC and it's due for it's MOT it has a few probs:

Rear light is out, brake light is fine - New dual filament bulb?!

Front light flickers when braking (gently, doesn't go on and off, just lightly flickers) - Will this be a fail?!

Gear linkage seems loose, this can lead to be a pain when shifting. don't think it is the box as the linkage can be moved from side to side - any ideas?!

I am taking the probs with good heart, all part of the experience of biking! Think I would be more angry if I had done my CBT!

Would it be easy to mess with the gear linkage myself?!

check wiring. could be shorting somewhere or a dodgy wire

check gear selector spring. thats normally what goes on the chinese bikes

Hi,

Thanks for the reply!

I'm not driving it about, well, no further than the end of my road.

When I say it flickers, it dims. Would that be considered the same?!

The linkage is loose, can move it from side to side. I take it that is not normal?

Does the dimming happen when you rev the bike? what about when you lower the revs? or is it just when you put the brakes on?

Just when applying the brakes.

Another problem, woke up this morning and electric start doesn't work. Kick started, no problem, gone to rev the bike - it cuts out?!

Sounds like the battery is flat or it's not charging.

ok, when you turn the key for the first time do any of the electrics work? lights, brakes, indicators and even display lights. if they are out untill you kick start the bike then you've got a short somewhere. normally its around where the bulbs are on the chinese bikes. so check the wiring around your rear light as thats where the electric problem first started with your bike you said.

my front light kept going on my lifan and it turned out that a wire was touching the casing and earthing itself causing a short. it is an easy fix if you can find the wire. look for bare wires near connectors and either trim them or tape them up.

Hi,

All lights and electrics work fine when I turn the key, bar the rear light. I have included links to vids on youtube of the problems I am having. Any feedback would be massively appreciated!

Ha! Cheers mate, too late for that now! What are your thoughts on the lever/linkage?!

If I get a year out of it, or less should I pass my DAS or Car test I will be happy!

I dont think there is anything wrong with your gear selecter or the gearbox but the linkage is knackered, you could posssibly repair or replace the linkage or fit a standard gear lever onto the gear shaft backwards but remember that you gears will be reversed. Your electrical problem with the lighting could be down to a dirty connection or a simple earth connection as I have noticed that Chinese manufacturers just solder earths onto a single wire which will overload the conductor, try connecting the earth wire from the tail light unit directly to the frame or negative battery terminal. Did anyone recodnize the engine as it seemed to be a twin cam four valve single?(cbr150 clone perhaps)

Hi,

Sorry for taking ages to get back, been working.

The light was just a blown bulb, mechanic said that the bike needs to warm up first, hence why it's cutting out and just worried about the gear lever now (dangers of being a noob). Think I will fit a standard lever.

When I put the bike on it's side to try and adjust the linkage, it was leaking, oil I think - is that normal?!

Don't think so, I had to do this to mine the other day and it didn't leak. Probably a simple fix though, I imagine you just need a new seal?

PostPosted: 10:58 - 10 Feb 2014    Post subject: sanya clutch cable Reply with quote

Hello Everyone,
I have a sanya sy 125-11. Last week my clutch cable got broken luckily found one used on ebay for exactly the same model but it is too short:(
It seems the broken clutch cable is not the original one the model number is LD 34400-AIBCO. I googled it but nothing came up.

Has anyone got an advice where could i find a new clutch cable?

Thanks for your help!

Take the old cable off and walk into a shop with it, ask them to match it up.
