With no moto2, this race had better be amazing to make up for it.

This round is supported by the AMA superbikes for financial reasons, so no moto2 or 125's at laguna. AMA won't be broadcast in their place.

No moto2? Sad

It's usually much better than the GP race.

They say its something to do with it being too expensive to run all three classes and there being not very much interest in 125/moto2 in America, although I'm not sure how true that is as any American forum I've read seems just as hyped about moto2. Confused

I think its bollocks really, they shouldn't be able to pick and choose what classes they hold, GP is a race series and all 3 classes should race.
If money was such a big factor they wouldn't do

Germany>USA>Czech Republic>USA!!

They could just run the two American rounds over a couple of weekends and save shifting tons of equipment across the Atlantic and back a few weeks later.

how do hell can they know how much interest there is, if they never gave it a chance.

the 125 fair enough, but your have to be blind to not enjoy moto 2

It's always been that way, so the decision was taken back when it was 125's and 250's, before it was known how much interest any of the classes would have in the US. They wanted to create some big spectacular event and from an american point of view they succeeded. Imagine having MotoGP, 2 BSB races and Supersport all on at silverstone in the same day, cause thats what they have. There was also a desire to keep costs down for the smaller classes as they wouldn't have to ship everything over there. I think there was also a slightly underhanded hope that the 125 and 250 guys not getting experience at laguna might help AMA guys get into motogp. From the performances of Spies, Hayden, Hayden and in the past edwards, it kind of worked.

It was simply the matter that the 125s and 250s at the time couldn't pass the emissions for California

No it's not. The AMA can only get Laguna for one weekend a year, so the GP boys have to slot in with them. There's not room on the schedule for AMA and all of the MotoGP classes. I'm fairly sure that Moto2 will be at Indy, if not 125s as well.

Fucks sake, thats the second time i've seen Pedrosa go faster and faster till he crashed. Lorenzo is pretty boring apart from the celebrations. Stoner has lost a lot of form, but at least he's consistent now. Good job done by the yanks on the whole Thumbs Up

Podium for Rossi with a small amount of luck, but i was impressed he kept the speed up right to the end.

Certainly time for Stoner to leave Ducati and how the fuck did those crashes happen on what was more or less a straight, did they lock up the front wheels.

Wasn't a straight. It was an uphill left hander with inverse camber. It was all at this corner:

if he doesn't i can see him getting beaten to death by the geometrist for the frame, all he seems to whine about is the front washing out.

What stoner wants and what everybody else wants are different things. When stoner got what he wanted he won, but nobody else did. Now they made the bike rideable by others he's bitching and moving to honda. The honda is a better bike, but if he doesn't get on with it, he's not going to find them very accommodating.

Agree ^^

As far as Honda are concerned they design bikes, you ride them, they don't want rider input. Hence why Vale went to a poor Yamaha team who wanted his input, and turned them into the #1 team to beat. (admittedly the two amazing riders they have atm helps)

Its a shame really, because on a small twisty track like Laguna, Moto2 would have been fucking ace!

The GP race was ok, but the grid does appear to be very empty these days.

+1,
the grid looks like a semi pro race, not the pinnacle of bike racing, every start im like "where is the rest then? Confused "

also agree with i thought the moto2 on that track would have been very entertaining to watch, tbh i enjoyed top gear more then the race that day Sad

i woudn't leave my seat to even piss if there was such an event Laughing
