Gotta be a good way to reduce overcrowding in prisons and to reduce the burden on the taxpayer?? Thinking

To my mind anyone that has been sentenced to what >=5years or been in jail more than once* (however petty the crime) should bypass jail and go straight to the chair!! Thumbs Up

Sure, you will get the odd 'mistake', but hey, it would be worth it for the greater good rather than fannying about 'just in case' you execute someone that was actually innocent!! Thumbs Up

*people can make mistakes, but if you have ended up in there >1 time, then chances are you are incapable of learning a lesson/a scumbag and going to end up in there several more times right?!!? - so don't feck about - https://www.myemoticons.com/images/objects/other/electric-chair.gif execute!! Cool

Point 1. We never used the chair in Britain.
Point 2. Stop being a reactionary twat.

Rather than executing repeat offenders, just stop releasing them early from prison. Only put people in prison because of the risk they present rather than because the sentencing guidelines state that there is a mandatory prison term for that offence.

Releasing all the people who don't need to be in prison would reduce over crowding so there would be space for detaining those who need to be there. Everyone wins.

Think of it from their side.

You go to jail for 5 years for something, you get out.

You are driving down a road, a child runs out in front of you and you are unable to stop and kill said child through no fault of your own, they just ran out without looking.

With no evidence to the contrary, you are down for manslaughter.

You'd be chaired for, well, bad luck?

How would you feel? Wink.

As I said, you can't NOT do it just coz you will top a few people ...

Only having one 'get out of the chair card' is surely an incentive to never use it by petty crime and to really watch yourself thereafter right!?!? Wink

I have thought about it on and off for ages now and I can't see any downside compared to the upsides* Confused

To be fair, if I was in the crazy house or jail more than once, then 'top' me* - society will get along fine without me - it is only fair!! Thumbs Up

On our rides I have seen you:
1) ride on and damage private land
2) ride your bike on the road without due care and attention
3) break speed limits
4) perform fellatio on a bearded man in the woods.

ok! so 4 is made up ... but I am sure its happened (please confirm or deny)

What happens if you cant afford the fines / dont turn up at court .... and you are sentenced to a few days in prison.
Before you know it you are blubbing like a baby and wetting yourself as they strap you into a chair.
And just before they crank the lever.. you have to look out at the observers... only to see my grinning mug giving you the thumbs up Thumbs Up Very Happy Thumbs Up
