Kids in pubs.

NO NO NO NO AND FUCKING WELL NO!!!!!!!!

Sat down by myself in a newfangled gastro pub, pint of cider in one hand, paper in the other waiting for my meal, when a family of about 8 are perched next to me.

The kids are running about and the parents don't even bat an eyelid, screaming and shouting kids. Now, in KFC it rules me mildly, but you half expect it. BUT in an adult based establishment it is just downright annoying!

Rant over. BTW I'm not anti kids. Just anti irresponsible parenting.

i agree completly, a pub is no place for children. sadly tho the licensing laws state that untill 9pm they are allowed in if acompanied by an adult.

Well behaved, sweet, polite children i.e brought up well with respect and disvipline? The parents deserve a medal on the otherhand!

I don't really have a problem with it in certain pubs, the kind where you'd expect children, usually Brewers Fayre with the big kids playgrounds and allsorts. There's usually an area where you can sit to be away from them, I used to have to eat in these pubs when work put me up in Premier Inns and the like, always managed to find somewhere to escape the screaming and running around or just wait until a bit later on.

I love taking my kids to pubs, they get to run around indoors whilst I get completely off my tits. If the landlord makes the mistake of leaving all those sauce sachets about then they even get to eat too.

I see other patrons getting annoyed but to be honest it just adds to my merriment.

Well it is just a complete annoyance, when i'm trying to get off my rocks having a spliff and few beers with the some random slag whilst trying to get some sext time and the little brats are runnimg around screaming and asking me what i'm doing to their mummy.

I mean come on, child. Your daddy has passed out, let the sex god get his wick dipped.

In all honestly, most of the pubs that I frequent all have the rule of no under 18's after 9pm, which suits me fine.

As a child, I was brought up to be well mannered when out in public. I was also taught table manners.
In turn I brought my daughters up the same way.
There is no excuse for badly behaved brats ruining things for other people.

I fell out with a friend when we took our children to a cafe as I was so embarrassed by her brats behaviour.

The parents need a kicking, obviously not in public that would just set a bad example Laughing

Just to clear things, my girls could be absolute shits at home though.

What I do is call a waiter over and blatantly ask to move. I did this a while back a massive group game in 4 couples plus sprogs all under about 8. I called a waiter over and asked to change tables while recieving evil looks from our new neighbours. Fuck them, I don't want to put up with your little arseholes.

I have an autistic son who is now 19

As a kid we used to take him to pubs with play areas but he knew if he didn't behave well whilst in the pub eating that he wouldn't be allowed to play

Any parent that uses the "my kids have a problem" excuse are just lazy parents who don't give a dam

Its like everything, the 'bad' ones tar everyone else!

When I was a child going to a pub was treat and we HAD to be on best behaviour.

Used to love going to the local pub for a coke and packet of walkers on a summers evening Smile

I can't afford to eat/drink in pubs on more than a rare occasion, but as of yet have only taken my son to Beefeater types, where people expect kids because I know he is rubbish at staying on his seat - eating out (on holidays) was awful for the first few years with him - he would never sit in chair for more than 2 mins. It's OK now he has gradually grown out of that one - PHEW!

I fact, I had a mortifying experience in our local eatery (old pub turned into expensive restaurant). Met an old friend for lunch, took my son, because I have no choice (single parent Father doesn't do weekends). . . . .

Little bugger got out of his chair (he was 3rs old) and went to a large table of elderly adults - whacked the eldest dude on the back and said BOO!

OMG! Its was his 90th birthday and he was deaf. I was so embarrassed !!!!!

I apologised and the elderly man's daughter was sweet about it.
