Makes you wonder why he's selling it, and up for a swap for any 125cc on-road bike, and he's sad to see it go.

Sounds like theres something he's not mentioning to me Laughing

The stuff people think is acceptable to write is unbelievable - i've seen stuff a hell of a lot worse than that.

Looking at the items already sold, it looks like a kid's gotten hold of his parent's account.

i'd never bid on a description as bad as that, write like a chav and it just gives you the impression it's been ragged to bits. It really isn't that hard to write a proper description.

also, if i see a huge font size and i wouldn't even bother reading it.

i'll be surprised if that sells.

its been well looked after apart from the 13k miles i rode the thing like i stole it, all wots wrong with it is the number plate holderonner from where i wheelied it and snapped it off and the brake lever where i dropped it from said wheelie.

new clutch might be in order soon from where i hoked the fuck out of it and please dont mail any questions about it because its my dads account and he thinks i rode it sensibly in my addidas 3 stripes

Do people actually still say "well brilliant" any more?! Laughing

Let's see if we can translate.

This is a very nice bike, sad to see it go really, it's been brilliant. 13,000 miles on the clock and well looked after. The only bad points are it needs a new front brake lever, {tail/stop light} and rear numberplate mounting {after a low speed drop.}
Paid £1600, will accept £850* - well worth the price**.
If you like what you see please email me***. Would also swap for any road-legal 125cc****.

* Not something you're allowed to say on eBay, though it's redundant anyway given the buy it now price.
** Why do sellers say this? The buyer will be the judge of that, matey.
*** No email address given. Again a complete waste. You'll have to use the ebay contact feature just like you would with any similar item you'd be interested in.
**** How's that going to work?

Not a great deal of pertinent info really, but at least it's reasonably easy to understand and he's covered the basics. Except, yknow, whether it's taxed (ok, that's covered in the images, but so is the mileage), MOT'd, if he has the V5, and if it's in a fit state to ride away.
The big question is, why is he wanting rid of it, only to get "any other 125"?!

i've been watchin this bike. Its got a single bid....sadly the reserve hasn't been met. I so desperatly want it to sell so i can renounce my faith in the buy sell industry and demand the government revert back to trading with grain and beans. I've already got my eye on an sv 1000 and can't wait to offer the seller 3 pebbles and 2 sacks of grains

Looking at the damage. I think you can say YES Laughing

Lets see if they respond with the answer Rolling Eyes

Can't see the problem with no email address, as contact via ebay sends you a email advising you have a msg....
I would never post a email on ebay... Just like you would never put one on a forum...

Your missing the point, this is a brilliant piece of marketing. He's written the advert in teen-speak which is illegible to normal humans because he thinks thats where he's going to get the highest bidder. Very Happy

thats what i noticed too. im thinking, as he has 3 for sale, he'll wait untill the money clears and then buy one from the o2 shop making himself a couple of hundred quids.

if egay worked like that we'd all be doing it so if he sells any of them i will be starting the same gimic.

anyone want to buy a conker? £100 ono Laughing Laughing Laughing

Well, maybe they accidentally hit the "relist" button on a different bike rather than the "post new listing" one, and just changed all the details when they realised.

Wait ... that'd be an awesome dodge to avoid listing fees so long as the ebay fuzz didn't notice. I C wat U did thar b.warman.
(Hmm, it's "ended" but doesn't say if it was won or whatever. Removed by the feds?)

Heck, do a general search for such items, watch a few through to completion and see what the going rate is, you may be surprised.

Back when I was trying to cheaply upgrade my old laptop, the number of auctions I was outbid on ... by people paying more than what I could have just bought the parts for at retail, my god. The only plausible theory is that they have some kind of bidding OCD.
