When do you put away the bike for the season?

Had an enjoyable ride around the A roads on the weekend - especially like roads surrounded by trees - almost tunnel like.

However, it got me thinking - when the season changes and the leaves start to fall, I'd imagine these same roads would be quite slippery and dangerous.

This is my first season riding - anyone got a good indication of when the leaves start to fall and it becomes too dangerous for "joy" rides?

I ride 364 days a year, seeing as it's my only form of transport.

Mine went away in October when the tax ran out, although that's the first time I've done that.

Usually have kept it taxed and had some real good days out in winter.

going to tax it all year this time, I missed it.

Middle of October, then back out again in March.

I did a couple of winter's worth of riding, and hated it, but I'm a big girl and don't like the cold! I do however, ride Motocross nearly every weekend through the winter!

The only time I don't ride is if the bike isn't roadworthy, which isn't often cos it's my only form of transport.
The bike is my daily runner AND my weekend toy, so I'm out on it all year round.

All year 'round - including the snow and ice (thanks to the addition of studded tyres, I got back to quite enjoying biking again even with hard packed snow/ice.)
I do have a car and van, but most times choose the bike to avoid traffic (including snowy, before I got the studs too ).

I don't look down on those that do use cars (I still go out for 'fun' drives occasionally too, probably enjoy more than a fun road ride on my bike) - but do on those that don't have the right kit then moan about biking being cold!

I dont care if people think i`m a pussy, but when the weather is at it`s worst, i leave the ZX at home.
If i do feel the need to ride in the winter with all the greasy, wet and salty roads, i can choose to use my little Honda .

I have had my share of winter riding in the past and now there is no need for me to ride in the winter if it`s really bad.
have the gear to do it if push comes to shove.

the ZX can and will come out in the winter, only not so much

24-7, 365 this kinda shit happens all the time. The only time the blade gets taken off the road ironically is summer! That's because I go on holiday for 1-2 months during that period meaning that I don't get a chance to ride it! Best time to ride it is in Spring and Autumn - You can still ride in perforrated leathers without much problem in november
