100 metres ironing?

By athletics do they mean track and field, or any olympic sport? (i.e. archery, pistol shooting etc.)

Possible answer: 10

Differences
3 -> 6 = +3
6 -> 3 = -3
9 -> 11 = +2
12 -> 10 = -2

I'd go for Archery, if thats classed as athletics. I know the team record was higher for women, not so sure on singles but I think it was a Korean woman.

Just to over complicate things it might be mathematical order.

So...

3x2=6
6/2=3
9+2=11
12-2=10
