I've just got an i-phone again, but have about 2 apps I actually use!
So some recommendations please?

I've got a couple of games that I play constantly (Settlers is ace!) and thats about all I have on it!

Yep, I've got something and I want to make the most out of it. I know shocking behavior for an apple product just owning it should be enough!

Now have angry birds, new favoritist thing to pass time at work!

Finger physics, Scramble, The Chive was good until they stopped updating it but theres loads of archives still available. Sickipedia app always passes the time. Ragdoll blaster 1 & 2 are both good too.

Or at least they would if they could get a signal to use the app.

The only place I have signal problems with my 3gs is in my Local Pub and 1 stairwell at work. It is infinitely better than my N97. People can slag it it off all they want but it is the best phone I have ever owned most useful and reliable. I can count on one hand the number of times it has frozen and needed a reset whereas my N97 would freeze daily. My phone rarely gets turned off (maybe once a month). Yeah the battery sucks but it will last a day easily with heavy use. I just charge it everynight. Even if it is low when I'm at a friends 9/10 times they will have a cable I can use to charge it.

I was refering more to the iphone 4. My housemate just got one 2 weeks ago and the signal is pretty awful at our house. It would also seem that you only need to look at it and the signal drops.

I'm not slagging off iphones at all, I like them but having changed my n97 to the SE x10 I can't really justify getting one. I had a play with my housemates the other week and can't really find anything on the iphone that I can't do with the x10.

The app store alone is worth it,

I love old games and currently have these gems on my iphone

FF1
Flight of the amazon queen
Monkey Island 1+2
Broken sword

This doesn't even include the countless 'adictive' games and other iphone only proper game like chaos rings (a must for any FF fan)

I love my iPhone. The interface and browser just being so fluid and pleasing to use swings it for me. Also the screen on my iPhone 4 is very sharp and nice to look at.

Zombieville USA - Fantastic game, very addictive. It only has a couple of buttons & is a side scroller so very basic. You kill zombies, upgrade guns & progress to the next level, highest for me was around lv17, i hear it has 100!

Around Me - Tells you all the nearest garages, ATM & other 'POI'.

Torch - turns the screen a bright white which is quite useful in the dark to find lost keys under a car.

Midomi - Song recognition where you can get the name of a song by humming or singing which is great if you don't have the song playing. Surprising it works, think it recognized 'The Crash Test Dummies' Laughing.

Count yourself lucky then. I love the phone, but the amount of times I've got no signal stopped being acceptable a while ago...

One of the best apps i've used so far as mentioned is the Sky+ record...
One that hasn't been mentioned is Mobile Air Mouse. It essentially lets you use your iphone as a remote trackpad for your PC. Pretty good it is too.
