What's the technical name for the little stud on the bottom of the footpeg?

Snap, now the first thing to touch down is the exhaust, and that gets messy when that happens. Might just build up some weld on the bottom of the footpeg again, it'l do the job and its not exactly going to detract from the value of the bike. Laughing

Cheers

You can buy replacements can't you? Don't they just unscrew?

Also is Hero Blobs their actual name or just a nickname given to them?

They're probably called 'Peg Protector Lumps' or something equally stupid.

Working at a yamaha dealership.

Yamaha simply know them as

"Bolt"

I always tell my customers to refer to it as a hero blob and we'll know what you're talking about.

Another vote for hero blob...
I had one grind and snap from the footpeg of the GPZ years ago, and managed to remove the foot peg rubber, drill a new hole thru the metal, and installed a threaded bolt and 4 or 5 nuts to the underside of the peg.
One DIY hero blob... and as far as I can remember, it was still on the bike when I sold it about a year later.

That would involve spending money on the bike though, Id rather build up some weld on the bottom with the arc and go to the pub instead. Laughing

Its priceless, cant you tell its a rare, one off, no expense spent ( Wink ) custom piece of engineering prowess....

In other words its worth whatever 220kg of assorted steel is worth to the scrapman.

Cheers
