Just filled the SV up, I am getting 60mpg ...
I remember the days when I used to be lucky to get 45mpg out of the old girl ... am I really that slow these days to get 60mpg??
I'm actually slightly embarrassed to admit I can get 60mpg out of the SV to be honest ... I feel I have lost some manliness!
Anyone else getting better mpg ... please tell me it is just BP's oil spill meaning there is more oil in the atmosphere so I don't need it in my tank or summin ____________________ The purpose of life is to fight maturity. |

90-100 which is one reason I'm reluctant to go to a bigger bike, considering I use it mainly for mile munching commuting. ____________________ CBT February 2008 | A2 June 2008 | Yamaha YBR125 (written off) | Honda CBF125 (current) |

The lowest I've ever, ever had was 75MPG, and that was with proper 60 - 70MPH + riding. I can imagine if you were riding carefully at 60MPH on a bigger bike you could easily hit 60MPG.
You'd have to accelerate as slowly as my 125 as well though. You must be getting old ____________________ will never give up his CG. I look at my fuel gauge more as a progress bar than a fuel gauge.

ms51ves3: why does it need 500 miles? Are you teaching it how to be a piston? |

60mpg from a bike that size is a reason for great rejoicing in my book - but then I'm a tight bugger ____________________ The RXS100: vehicle of choice for Chuck Norris |

I am not sure the actual mpg is that important ... it is the fact that it is proportionally so much better ... and that it is NOT by concious effort ... everything else being equal, the only obvious conclusion is that I am riding more sedately than I used to (again without really trying/meaning to) ____________________ The purpose of life is to fight maturity. |

Been getting mid to high 50's on the petrol consumption recently - Bandit6 (standard setup, but with a Beowulf stubby exhaust)ridden VERY carefully cos the money ran out just before payday.
If I'm hooning around, wrenching the throttle etc I get something like 48mpg ... so my riding style can make as much as 10mpg difference on the Bandit, but it's definately a conscious effort to make that difference ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N

I think i worked out i was getting around the low 50's mpg on the 350. Not too bad i suppose, a fair amount of that is motorways.
I've noticed this 'fuel saver' stuff too, sounds pretty good. I usually hit reserve between 130 and 150 miles so it'll be interesting to see where it'll happen. Clocks hit 130 (Not MPH haha!) today and thats before reserve so i'll be keeping a keen eye on it.
I Would like to see how high i could get the MPG though, Just dont know if i could ride the way to acheive that for a whole week lol! ____________________ First bike: 1982 Suzuki Gs 125 'The beast MK1' > 1988 Honda Cb 350's' FOR SPORT!
