Not sure it's quite the same Smile - of course one thing going wrong can easily see you dead, but because you can be doing it for 1000s+ of hours on end fine, it's a little different.
Also, I suspect all the planning that goes in to it building up to one point is going to help.

I wouldn't mind trying it from a high point some time, but not sure it's something that I'd want to be doing regularly (like my sleep for a start Razz ).

Is this the program about BASE jumping? I know a few lads who do it, I also know a few lads who've died doing it. (one of whom had jumped off the Burj Dubai)

But I'd still love to give it a shot Laughing

Yep, when he kept talking about being addicted to 'base', it sounded like he was talking about a strongish amphetamine Smile.

Did some Parachuting a few years back then some paragliding
would love to do BASE as well, but not easy to get into or to get training
you can't just go onto a building and jump, chutes are rigged up for specific jumps
depending on the launch point and some skill is needed to do it properly
but given the chance with the right equipment I would do it in a heartbeat

The list mentioned in the program can be found here:

click

Wouldn't mind giving it a go, but there appear to be a hell of a lot of variables that are outside of your control.

Good video of some jumps/dives. Fantastic music to add to that. Was posted here a few months back.

Yeah, I thought he was.... something just not right about him (apart from the 'obviously mental' bit)
Not bad to look at with his shirt off, but then he opened his mouth and put me off. As for his mate, stay at home..... you are RUBBISH at base jumping Laughing

What a great documentary though, throughly enjoyed watching it. I'd never heard of Base jumping before Shocked

I think it was the fact that he totally loved himself more than anything on the planet that made him a stroker. The shirt off bit is a good example - yes he did have a decent bod, but ffs, it was overcast, on a housing estate, in the UK - that is NOT shirt off weather.

That and the 'Dan the Man' bollocks on his helmet and his personal plate on the car. I could go on, but I think that will do! Laughing

I remember watching a documentary about BASE jumping before, focused around a bloke who ended up trying to "fly" over (or under, i cant remember) a bridge...

...he buggered it up and hit the bridge head on !
