This is a long story I'm going to try to cut it down.

Had an accident September 07 on the Speed Four.
Resolved June 09 50/50.
While I was in Canada in Early July 10, my sister answered the door to bailiffs demanding £1805.08 from me apparently I lost a court case in November 09 as to paying the fees (I knew nothing about this.)
Get home and ring the solicitor, what is actually going on is that HSBC had paid the damages but not the costs.
He gets on to HSBC who deny they have received anything about this which is crap they have received countless emails and letter from my solicitor and the 3rd party insurance company demanding this money.
The other insurance company saw on other option but to start a case against me.
HSBC then say they are refusing to pay the costs because I didn't notify them till 9 months, which aside from being illegal is rubbish.
After much fucking about and arguing and them promising to make a decision I used this website https://www.connectotel.com/marcus/ceoemail.html and emailed the CEO of HSBC UK (yesterday)
Today my solicitor finally told me they had agreed to pay it.
They where utterly useless never sticking to deadlines and rarely replied to correspondence. They have also yet to apologise.

The whole reason you pay insurance is so you doubt have to deal with this shit, I have banked with HSBC for 12 years and I plan to change that ASAP. It has been incredibly stressfully and tainted my holiday and my birthday I have contacted BBC Watchdog.

Do you know how horrible it is while you are on holiday to have your mum tell you your sister answered the door to bailiffs? Fuck HSBC, I urge all of you to never get involved with them.

That's a piss take. You went about things the right way from the sounds of it, well played!

It would be interesting to see the email you sent to the CEO, it can take allot to get the attention of people like that.

Thumbs Up

I was insured with you 3 years ago in which I had an accident, cut along story short it went 50/50. You paid out the damages but neglected to pay the costs, this was over a year ago. Since then I have had bailiffs turn up at my door and try to get the money from me. I live with my parents therefore and everything in the house is theirs. This warrant will come back unsatisfied. My solicitor informs me then the bailiffs will be directed at HSBC offices to remove property to the tune of £1805.08 which is apparently what you owe the other side. I just thought you would like to know and can get your legal team to get off of their arse and send this cheque to the other insurance company. This is all down to the lack of communication within your legal teams and claim department according to my solicitor he has sent countless letter to them informing them about this and was getting no response. Personally I would love to see them turn up at one of your offices and start removing property I feel the embarrassment is well deserved.

Do you know how embarrassing it is to have bailiffs turn up at your door? Or to have the worry of this hanging over your head? My little sister answered the door to the bailiffs as I was in Canada, It wrecked the last week of my holiday it also spoilt my birthday as I was sick with worry. Frankly I am appalled by the actions (or lack of) by HSBC insurance, I have banked with HSBC since I was 11 years old, which I will be changing very shortly.

Half of me hopes this email prompts you to kick the arse of the legal team and get it sorted, the other half of me hopes bailiffs turn up at your office and start removing property, I hope they have a BBC camera crew with them even more.

If you do want to chase it unfortunately I do not have the claim number with me but my bikes reg is E******** and the accident was in September 07.

If you are not the person this should be aimed at please forward it to the director in charge.

Regards,

Chris Brown

Would just like to point out that HSBC are not the underwriters of your ins, it is the underwriters who should have covered the costs. They are simply acting as a broker.
So any court case should have been directed to the underwriters. Karma

Unless it is your ins co that is claiming off you Shocked

I'd like to point out to you, that HSBC are the underwriters and should have covered the cost. Express Insurance are the brokers.

Well you learn something new all the time, as any car, house ins is not provided by HSBC but by other underwriters. BISL at the moment, think they changed to them in 2008/09 as I was with them prior to that and it was a diffrent co.
