I have a question re. the theory test - I only passed my driving test just over a year ago, and of course, sat my theory test then - do I have to re-sit my theory test when doing my DAS???

Well done! Thumbs Up

I'm just learning to drive at the moment, having had a full bike licence for years. I guess I've got it all ahead of me.

Yes, because you have to do a motorbike theory test, because its slightly different to the car, apparently. I think!

Yep, you're going to have to do it all over again. Money grabbing isn't it? The two were almost identical, though. Expect more of the same, perhaps with a couple of questions about motorcycle maintainance eg. Uneven tread wear could be caused by which three of the following five. I got stung big style, bought a Theory test book for the bike, then had to buy another for the car last week. In hindsight, I could have done them both easily without.

What use is that hazard perception? I can click a mouse, when I see ball bounce across the road ( I kid you not ). How can it tell if I will check my mirrors, brake in time and safely. The examiner on the practical will suss all of the hazard perception part, I think. It seems like a little trick to me. Then, I am cynical about this stuff.

Ah well, at least it's done now, before they think up something else to make more of us fail on and get their grubby mitts on another £20.

Congrats on the pass!

I have done my theroy test 4 times. Thats £64 for two pieces of paper!

First two times were car, failed first, passed second.

Then about a month ago i did the same for the bike.

The hazard perception was the same clips almost each time. I got next to full marks on each but the first time i did it. My test centre was so hot though i headache every time.

My CBT ran out yesterday but i re-did it yesterday too. Piece of piss. On a geared bike too, since i been riding an auto DNA 125 for that time in all weather, it was weird riding a geared GS125. Bone shaker!

Just dumped the DNA at the garage on the way home, pissing coolant all over. A pleasant customer gave me a lift home on the back of his ZX9R, Twas great.

Im trying to book a restricted course now.

Hey Dup

It sounds like the seal on the coolant cap has lost it's shape, you may have screwed it back on too tightly. Get a new a cap for about £3 and some coolant to replace what you have lost.

Peace

Passed my test long time ago....

1st attempt (back in the mists of time when all you had to do was to turn up), examiner told me which route to take and to watch out when he stepped out for the emergency stop. Nearly ran the silly fool over when he leapt out right in front of me. Strangely enough, he felt that was enough to fail me. Picky git, I didn't even touch him!

2nd time, I took the wrong route and didn't see the examiner till I got back to the test centre. He failed me for some reason!

3rd time, I managed to take the correct route, and the examiner didn't have a "brown trouser" moment on the emergency stop. And I passed.

Christ knows how I'd do with the test now!!

So congrats to anyone brave enough to face the CBT and test!!

No, pissing coolant from the thermostat cap, one of the tubes leading out was broken. Bakelite shit Rolling Eyes Ordered one of those but also it wasn't circulating coolant. The reason i was taking it in originally. The *sommit begins with 'I'* wasn't spinning up and the whole unit needed replacing. Bag of shite. Again, another part made of pissing bakelite. Cheap italian shit.

Hehe, Garry! Must have been even harder when everything was black and white! Laughing

Well done.

I passed before all this came in, but I have done the online theory tests, just out of interest.

Does anybody know if the Hazard Perception tests are available online, or do you have to pay £££s for a CD. I fancy giving it a go just to see if I would still pass. A mate of mine who has been a profesional driver for years has had to do them as part of his work and almost failed for spotting 'potential' hazards that didn't materialise. Just wondering how valid computer simulations can be??

Well done

Robin, the test CD isn't close enough to the actual test to make a true comparison.

It's fairly simple, but amounts to a race against the clock, when you don't know when the clock starts.

Does anyone know about the the change of theory test examiners? Apparently now it won't be possible to book a test untill september 4th at the earliest. How bollox is that.

This got anything to do with the supposed change of the hazard perception test?
