Bottom book for just about ANYTHING, that runs, and has any decent amount of Tax & Test left on it is about £400.
It's 20 years old, but so what, its tidy, and its 'just' the sort of bike a lot of post test newbies are after, particularly if its on restrictors, or some-one wanting cheap commuter hack.
'Realistically' it is a piece of string job, but if you get T&T on it, get some nice pics after a little polishing on a sunny day, at a local park of somsthing t make it look good, and stuck it on e-bay with a £400 start, I'd guess it could easily nudge the £600 mark before auction end.
Blind, its worth £500 give or take, isn't it?
In the metal, a dealer will sell it down, they have to make a profit on shifting it on. so they's probably offer yuo something like £300 cash, but maybe as much as a grand on 'trade in' depending what you were chopping it against and how much haggle space they had on it.
Sold private in the local rag, £650 ask would probably get enough interest to see it go for close to the £500 mark.
BUT depends on who you get to look at it and what it REALLY looks and sounds like in the metal.
Fact its 'not' standard doesn't really make much odds in that price range; knocks points off more expensive bikes, but on an older one, its 'sort' of not worth arguing about. Some-one more knowing may be put off by the fat that it means brackets have been added and wiring adapted, and its not like the book, but some-one else may find it quite neat. Condition is everything.... ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!
