Hello there,
I'm selling 1 oil analysis kit from "The Oil Lab Ltd" or https://www.theoillab.co.uk/.
This isn't an equipment for conducting oil analysis.
This is a kit which helps you get a sample of the oil currently in your 4-stroke car/motorcycle/outboard/inboard marine engine and analyze it, so that you could see the condition of your engine, such as the viscocity of the oil and the small pieces of metal that's worn from the engine in the oil, so that you know that whether your engine is wearing normally, or whether the oil has degraded.
This engine oil analysis service will ALSO produce a TBN value for the engine oil that you've supplied.
This TBN is a value to indicate that whether the engine oil has enough "additive" to fight the acids produced in the engine during the combustion process. Knowing this TBN value will allow you to safely extend the oil to a longer milege (5,000miles+).
The Renault Laguna II 1.9dci (f9q?) turbo diesel engine is notorious for turbo failure due to the ultra long service interval stated by renault, not very good design of the oil feed pipes to the turbo and sometimes the EGR valve sticks and causes the turbo to run far too hot and damages itself.
This is very useful for the Car/bike enthusiast, because some of us drive highly tuned turbo/NA cars which is hard on the engine oil because of the heat, so to see whether the oil is working OK, this is the only way to find out.
For more detailed explanation of oil analysis you can look at the Blackstone Lab website, https://www.blackstone-labs.com/ which is one of the leading oil labs in the Unitied States specializing in Engine Oil analysis or look at www.bobistheoilguy.com, forum to see other car's oil analysis report.
Reason I'm selling this 1 kit is because I bought 2 of these kits from them, and then realized I won't use all 2 of them very soon, and i'm running out of cash so I'm selling one of them.
Each of these kits are entitled to 1 engine oil analysis service.
The kit will have a Syringe and a long plastic tube and a small bottle.
You connect the plastic tube to the syringe and then put it into the dipstick hole in your engine, then use the Syringe to suck up the engine oil in your engine and then squash it out from the syringe into the small bottle. After you filled up the small bottle, you will mail it back to "the Oil Lab Ltd UK". They will then analyze your oil and then email the report in Microsoft word file to me and then I'll forward it to you OR i will speak to them to see whether they can email it directly to you.
the photo you see in the ebay listing is a Honda Civic 2L K20Z3 engine with it valve cover open. You can see that it's very clean, with no sludge at all, meaning the oil kept up and didn't degrade and turn to carbon crab, thanks to the frequent oil changes of every 5000 miles. I will post the kit by 1st class mail or alternatively you can pick up the item from me.
