My ps2 has been dorment for a couple of months on accont of it not doing allot... the drive has gotten progressively worse at picking up disks, now it wont pick any up Sad

I'm not sending it off to be fixed, it will undoubtably cost as much as a new/second hand one...

So is there allot i can do about this? the old ps1 (early ones) had plastic runners in the drive which wore down, it could be adjusted and would work so far, is there such an adjustment on the ps2? or is it new drive time?

Anyone know of good places to get new drives? i'm assumeing it the drive anyways theres not allot in the way of moveing parts appart from that and the fan! Very Happy

Any ideas would be much appreciated Thumbs Up Wink

Try https://www.playstationchips.co.uk/pages/ps2spare-parts.html They show you which version PS2 you have which you will need to know before ordering. They are really easy to fix yourself.
