Well this is the week i go up the mountains Smile
I have been training since early January for this, and there`s no backing out now.
We (the group) intend to meet the goal of topping Ben Nevis (Scotland), Scarfell Pike (England), and Mount Snowdon (Wales) all within 24 hours.

Kit has been secured and checked and packed.

Obviously we are doing this for charity, ie EACH and MIND.
E. east A. anglian C. childrens H. hospital
MIND is a charity for people suffering mental health issues.

I`m not very good with links, but I think if you Google IP3PEAKS, you may find us, if you want to see us or even have a slight interest Thumbs Up

if any of you have any experience/tips that you might like to pass on, please do Smile .
If not, at least wish me luck for Wednesday/Thursday

I did the three peaks a couple of months ago. Was very good fun.

A few tips:
Work as a team - keeping each other going is very important, especially on Scafell and climbing Snowdon.

Make sure you have some warmer clothes for the peaks, and waterproofs as well.

Make sure you have maps and compasses. Generally not necessary, but you never know, you may need them.

Good luck, and have fun. It's a great experience! Hopefully you'll make it within 24 hours (we didn't)

Just donated a fiver to you. Is this the link: https://www.justgiving.com/IP3peaks-mind

Cheers,
Chris

No problem. The other thing I should have mentioned is food and water. Make sure you have enough in the vehicle. You will probably underestimate how much food you will want/need

Did it years ago when I was 14/15 at the Air Training Corps. Really good, dont remember it being that hard more tiring due to the constant go, go, go then sleeeeeeeep, go, go, go....28 1/2 hours!

Did it last year and I did all the driving as well. Out of 5 of us who took part only 2 of us made it (me included).

Training since Jan?

Overkill. Laughing

Good luck,

I did a similar thing when I was 15 with high school. We cycled between each one though, took us around 11 days if I remember rightly. Was good fun. Scar fell was probably the hardest one, partly due to it mostly being in the clouds and me twisting my ankle on the way down... I didn't let it stop me though.

I did it last year, was great fun, bloody knackering, but fun Very Happy . Going up Scafell Pike is the worst bit, just need to dig in there and keep going. We were up and down before 8am which feels a bit wierd considering most of our mates weren't even at work yet.

The driving is the least controllable part of it... having to stop at a red light can be the difference between doing it and not.

I managed 23 hours and 52 mins, but I hung around at the top of Snowdon for a coffee because I misread the time and didn't think I would make it down in time, before realising I could.

Good luck Thumbs Up

I've always wanted to do the 3 peaks challenge. A little bit unfit now compared to when I used to climb and walk alot. Have done scafell and have to say the way up is a fucking bastard lol. Ran all the way down though which I've always enjoyed doing, funnily enough got into a fight on top of Scafell aswell and then on the way down some lad was running down another route near us and he fell over. Nothing serious just a stumble, he looked like a right dick though so we laughed at him and he chased after us for a bit aswell lol.
