What model and bike?

Righteo, got my mind set on three bikes, but as I can't ride them yet wanted to know what people thought of them as performing etc.

I found the 2002 GSXR uncomfortable on the arms as I'm 6"7 and more of a stretch to the handlebars over the tank also the manual choke idea put me off, but was in great condition with 3k miles and a nice movistar decal kit. (£2500)

The 2004 GSXR was more comfortable and felt more protected within the bike and easier to reach the handlebars without strain as the previous model, but I find them very common in the blue and white paintjob on the roads and this puts me off to be honest, yet had an arrow aftermarket exhaust fitted, 7k miles with damage to the left fairing (£3865)

The 2003 ZXR looks alot more fearce than the others and is better performing, but not as comfortable as the 2004 GSXR, but felt like it would be alot more playful than them both, can't remember the milage but was in showroom condition with no stratches or anything (£3650)

So the above three is what im looking at right now, take a note the bike being bought would be 33bhp restricted as I would be on the A2 licence.

Why are you concerned with performance if its going to be restricted? When people say one performs better than the other it might be 2bhp more top end, or 3bhp more in the mid range. Anybody riding a 600 on the roads hard enough to really notice this difference is not long for this world. After just passing your test you definitely wouldn't or at least shouldn't be riding like that. Why would it matter than one makes 118bhp and one 120, when they are both getting capped at 33 anyway?

I would have thought that being 6"7 you would want a bike with more of a reach to the bars? Or was it that the bars were too low? Sports bikes don't fit tall people very well and get even more uncomfortable when on the move as the fairing will be useless

Go with whichever you like the look of an can afford. Shiny plastics are good, but the majority of people drop a bike at some point when they've not been riding long, and that could easily knock £1000 of the value of a £5000 bike.

Also a manual choke is in no way at all a problem and should never put you off buying anything. In summer it's not needed. In winter stick it on full if in doubt and keep backing it down till the revs return to normal. You would expect the choke to be completely off after about 5-10 seconds. If anything i'd be put off something with an automatic choke as bikes aren't very reliable and its something complex and expensive to break

Plan to keep this bike for the restriction and after the restriction, when the restriction period is ended I would want to take it down the track for some rubber burning sport bikes aren't that bad for me to be honest, most people believe they would be crap for anyone over 6"2, no idea where that really came from as I can reach the floor and the handlebars fine and lay on the tank and it aids me better as the air pressure would hit against my chest reducing the tension on my wrists

No way a 2003 ZX6R is worth 3650. That's daft money for them now.

I got mind for £3200 with 8k miles, that was mint and last year!

£8k will get you a brand new one. 2003 is a 7 year old bike
