*Sorry for the rant *

So i'm heading to work at 6am this morning on the Zed , as the dual carriageway narrows i'm stuck between two lorries , 1 in front & 1 behind.
As we come to a roundabout the bike suddenly loses traction and tips quickly over to the right with the front wheel buckling in on itself - only a quick leg out and a lucky hand full of throttle get's me back up and saves the bike .
This is when i notice the streaks left by the lorries tyres and that age old smell of diesel Rolling Eyes

Every time the lorry goes round a corner he's spilling it all over the road , after a few miles of me flashing my lights and beeping my horn i eventually gets in front and waves him down.

Explaining that on a CORNER he was spilling it he has a walk around the lorry and says he can't see any coming out , i proceed to explain it's coming out on the corners and you can smell it .
He pleaded ignorance so i just left .

I left feeling sorry for the next person behind him because he couldn't accept or believe that his lorry was leaking even though i exlained i'd seen it plain as day .

Anyway that was my sharp awakening this morning - just thought i'd share Laughing

truck drivers have a tendency to overfill their tanks and as a result you get that dumping.

the most comon place for it is at the roundabouts right after a petrol station. i've had a few scares on them things.

A while ago I saw a truck which had left it's fuel cap off, presumably just after refueling as a large flow of fuel came directly out. Unfortunately I was already late for work, so couldn't chase after it etc.
It was an 'Environment Agency' truck Rolling Eyes.

Like G i was also late for work as well as still being a bit shaky after a near 70mph off and half asleep having only woke up 20 minutes before , and as far as the police coming into it i know for a fact that they wouldn't give a shit - unless they could somehow charge him for it .

The Police would inform the highways agency which has a duty to do something about it.

If someone came off and wrote off the bike they could claim for negligence if the highways agency knew about it but did not take reasonable steps to ensure it was made safe.

You could of informed them when you were on a break or something, it is quite selfish not to report it when it'll cost you nothing more than 5 minutes of your time and could potentially save someones life Rolling Eyes

A lorry has crashed, killing a couple of riders and tonnes of kittens. The driver was a listed phedophile who was wanted for sex trafficing.

The police would be very interested.

They much prefer this call to the alternative of informing relatives of fatal accidents due to diesel spills.

Aside from the accident risk, diesel is a pollutant and is flammable dumping it on the roads is likely to be several crimes in itself.

In my experience the police are far from interested in such 'crimes' that they don't notice themselves.

Selfish???? Rolling Eyes

I was late for work had almost crashed and i took the time to pull the lorry over , yes me on a BIKE pulled over a LORRY.
I did the right thing and having had previous dealngs with the plod on similar matters i know they wouldn't come out .
Besides this happened about a half mile from Northumbria plod HQ so i'm sure they're aware by now if they do care at all .

Oh and on the way back took the time to help an old lady cross the road , am i redeemed ?
