PostPosted: 02:45 - 03 Aug 2010    Post subject: Neon Rave Fancy Dress Reply with quote

Right, in about a weeks time there's going to be a proper neon rave at ym work. Windows being blacked out and they've spent a shitload of money on black lights, etc. We're gonna have neon paint and loads of other stuff. So should be epic.

And my friend asked me to borrow one of my bike helmets for his fancy dress... He wants to paint it black (which I don't mind as it's one I crashed in and haven't used in 3 years...) and a couple of other things...

He wants to do this...

https://www.iwatchstuff.com/2009/03/05/daft-punk-tron.jpg

So... I can't steal his idea... But I want to do something cool...

Now... If I could do this I would

https://www.wreckthetapedeck.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/Tron-2.0-concept-art.jpg

Anyone think of good ideas? Nothing silly. Gotta be awesome or hilarious. Not stupid Razz

Oh and I don't mind spending a bit of money, as if I win I get 40 quid cash and get to finish at 2am rather than 4/5am so in total an extra 50-60 quid or so...

Surely you're not meant to know about a rave that's be planned to happen at your work place cos now you (and other staff) know, your boss will be in contact with the police to prevent it all happening. Laughing

Your mate will look as gay as tronguy. Thumbs Up

That is such a good idea. Man I wish I worked in a place with cool parties. For a cheap alternative to black lights, get some glow sticks and cut them open and spread around the room. Did this when I was in the Army Cadet force all those years ago... good times.

Well it's not an illegal rave... So maybe I shouldn't have use the word "proper"

For those who don't know, my work is at a club, I'm a barman Laughing So it all makes sense Wink

And all the blacklights they're buying, etc can be sued again and again. So no need to be cheap on it.

Look gay? /lol/. It's a rave. People wear tights and tu tu's. It's not exactly fashion, attractive (but can be if girls do it right Wink) or something to be seen wearing down the high street in daylight... It's a rave where only blacklights are allowed, so bright stuff show up. Daft punk dude will look awesome, tron guy would look awesome but there's no way I could pull it off (making the costume).

Skeleton sounds like a good idea Shaggy Thumbs Up

Not sure I can be Dr. Manhattan... I'd just be blue. Bit boring...

More ideas please Wink

Black morphsuit + 'neon string' to draw a face, outline body etc, but have a switch so you can change your expression and possibly other bits - I'll leave that up to your imagination Wink.

Not a great picture, but I quite liked this too:

(TV monitor in robot style head mask... but that might be a bit TOO intricate!)

Could fit a decent sized 12V battery in a black bum bag - then wire up your lights with a small switch on your belt.

Wouldnt be too costly either.

Good shit!

Get an all black jump suit as above and paint a slightly smaller person than you on it, then paint another slightly smaller person inside that one.

You'll look blurred and people will think they need glasses.

Thumbs Up
