Anyone playing it?

I've got to confess I knew nothing about it, until a friend (who knew I was into C&C) gave me his guest pass trial key thing. I'm pretty much hooked now!

Ive been playing the full version for the past few days.

It fell onto my computer from the internets and installed itself then magically applied the crack.

Cracking game, loved the original and ive been waiting 12yrs for a sequel.

I got it when it came out. I can see there is depth to it, but I havent got an instant enduring love for it, the way I did with warcraft iii and company of heroes.

I'm not going to stop playing it, but it's not as moreish as I had expected.

I've got one guest pass left for anyone who thinks they would make quite a bit of use of it.

For anyone who doesnt have company of heroes, I'd suggest getting that instead.

Sorry mate but that's not on. The reason we all have to put up with stupid ant-piracy crap is because of people like you.

You have to leave the house to buy games these days?!

Wish someone would tell my potential customers this Laughing

All sorts - having to create stupid online accounts and disk-checking algorithms like SecureRom that don't work. If people didn't pirate games then publishers wouldn't feel like all that stuff was necessary.

However, you'll have my apologies once you buy the game.

I think try before you buy is a good idea. Not sure I would have bought it if I had tried it first, but I've got it now, so I will be playing it.

Needed anyways to collect stats etc.

Removable with increasing ease, and as you have already stated, doesnt work half the time anyways

"Collect stats" ? What? That's the lamest reason I've heard. Why is such stat collecting needed? Never benefited me, that's for sure. Yes, most of the anti-piracy stuff doesn't work - it only penalises those who actually pay money for the game. The more honest you are, the more you get shafted. How's that fair?

I've got to admit, the need to create online accounts annoys the shit out of me. I don't care that I can use the same account for the publisher's next game - I might not buy another. I must have a dozen of the fucking things and I can never remember the username/passwords when I get a game from the same company a year later!

Dude you truly are a retard......

Those that play online get there stats recorded for rankings, achievements and other multiplayer based info.

Microsoft do it for Xbox Live, Sony for PSonline, i remember back in the day of playing couterstrike.
CSports.net use to collect your stats and show you them. Stuff like times killed, rounds won, frags, frags per min etc etc

So get off your high horse and stop being a tit.

Yes but they could collect your stats based on your cd-key.
There is NO need to sign up and create accounts yourself just for that unless they need it for something else. Piracy check? Dunno.

Who's being abusive now?

All that crap is just a cover for the real reason online accounts were introduced, namely as an anti-piracy measure. I can understand it for a multiplayer game but not for anything else.

The original point still stands. If it wasn't for people pirating games instead of paying for them anti-piracy measures wouldn't be used.

Eloquent argument though. Concise, if nothing else.
