Is there any point in being able to walk around? It gets boring in games that are made for walking i.e GTA so i don't see how this will be any more fun.

Every single road in TDU looked the same & lacked variety, this looks like exactly the same.

The AI was really bad & the online play wasn't much better, seemed like every race people had the fastest car in the game which i think was the Saleen so it was pointless, unless you had too, which kills any enjoyment. All the other races were empty as most of the races happened in the city where everybody spawns.

They also need to sort out the bike handling, they had the visuals spot on.

Not to say it wasn't fun at times, the interiors of the cars look awesome & urge you to drive with this view which already makes racing more fun. The above problems put me off tho.

Have to agree with Misc.

I thought the first one was utter toss. There are much, much better racing games available.

GRiD, DiRT 2, PGR 3 & 4, Forza 2 & 3 all shit on it from a great height IMO.

Gran Turismo 5 is going to rim it savagely as well, cannot wait for that to come out.

It doesn't matter how good any driving game is, when GT5 is released, it will rape them all.

It has a chance of succeeding while we wait for GT5 however! Laughing

Test Drive isn't a hard core racer, if you want that you play Forza 3. Test Drive is a game for pure messing about!

I think the first ones was good, all they need to do is sort the handling out

I like just hooning around on Test Drive in the helmet view on the bikes with manual gears so you can short shift on the back wheel, the sounds and visuals are mint. That's the only thing i really do on it though, bit too tame and samey for my liking, i'll probably still pick it up though. Thumbs Up

*Goes back to playing Mx vs Atv Reflex* Laughing

Corrected for you. Forza 3 is an arcade game. It's crap.

Forza 2 was ok, about as arcadey as a sim could possibly get. Then forza 3 appeared, and shat all over the sim idea, and was an arcade game pretty much, rewind my lap? REWIND? Ruined the whole game for me, I just could not take it seriously because of that, even if I didn't have to use it.

Forza is a good racer though, I’ve been playing it online recently with my mate who is about the same level and its really good fun making up your own races with custom cars...the sharing of photos and video has been a good laugh too.
I’m waiting for Gran Turismo because I love the build up to the moment you start getting some decent motors and shit on the competition, plus it’s more of a sim.

To be honest i’ve been waiting for TDU2 for some time, I remember the first lot of Test Drive games on the PS1 tried taking Need For Speeds crown for a semi arcade racer with brilliant track and road designs. You have to remember that the Need for Speed tracks back in the day were made from scratch. There’s only so much Laguna Seca and high speed ring i can take before the continuous buzzing around a liner track becomes a little tiresome.
TDU2 doesn’t need the walk around bit but it might be just a laugh before getting down to some racing. Personally i love the idea of a racer on a huge scale of real roads, if it’s done properly it’ll be some nice to have as an alternate to Gran Turismo. I used to like the car delivery missions on Test Drive where you could do your best to deliver the car untouched to the customer.
