Went to the local sheepdog trials today.
Highlight last year was an errant sheep jumping into the crowd and within seconds surrounded by 20 sheepdogs. All eager to point it in the right direction.

Highlight this year was unnamed farmer who
a) was looking for his dog everywhere, not realising it had started its run
b) had to be shown where the sheep were and where his dog was
c) not having enough puff to command his dog by whistle.

If it were not so funny it would of been sad.

One of the good shepherds.https://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m174/howlingterror_2006/DSCF0366.jpg

During a heavy downpour i headed for the marquee.
And i came away £15 the lighter.
Didn't know there are so many microbreweries local to me. Cool

Also picked up some local Treacle Toffee Chedder and Madras Chedder and Chilli Chedder (Spicy Jack)

Yer know where yer are with local produce.

Pat
Oh and by popular demand, a pic of my shed.

You should brew some yourself. My missus got me all the gear for my birthday one year and it's the bees knees. Bit of effort as you need to make sure everything is sterile, and then you have the wait while it brews, and then you have to bottle and cap it all.

But 8 weeks down the line, you have 40 pints of beer for about £15 (once you have barrel, bottles, capper etc). The quality of the kit beers these days is pretty impressive, as is sitting down and sinking a pint of your own ale Smile

Last year we took my ultra intelligent sheepdog...and she was 'like meh'
This year we took the old fart-hound and she loved it.

bloke who owns the motocross track i work at has a farm and his dog is that well trained it doesnt need instructions

he just opens a gate and the dog runs off then five minutes later comes back with two hundred sheep and then they all go through the gate into the other field

the dog even seems to be training another one up as it barks at it when it goes wrong
