I used to work in a suit shop and know that there if you asked for it you'd get a 10% discount immediately, if you were buying a couple of suits or a couple of expensive suits you could get between 15 and 20% off if you tried...

Just wondering at places like bikers world, j and s, hein gericke etc how much discount can you get? Say you were just buying a helmet on it's own or you were buying a whole new set of gear including a helmet how much discount can you get by asking for it/if any at all? Just wondering what other peoples experiences were and I anyone who works there may be able to share the knowledge of staff on discounts Razz

HG are pritty good at giving discount when you buy lots of stuff. I got some foc gloves when i got my textile suit. Knee sliders and boots free with my leathers and a fog city with my AGV visor. But i did end up on first name terms with the store manager. Got to the point she would see my bike go past and shout 'Hi jay' as the back door opened without even looking up! Embarassed
Got invited to the staff trackday too. Very Happy

When I bought all of my gear from the Honda dealership in Wolverhampton I ended up with about £500 off!

Bearing in mind that was leather jacket, leather trousers, gloves, boots, helmet and a chain.

Not just bike gear - pretty much most things can be had with a reasonable discount these days. Shops would rather make a smaller profit than not make a sale at all.

Bear in mind that the mark up on a lot of bike stuff, particularly textiles, boots and lids, is usually fucking astronomical.

Depends who you're talking to, and how well they know you, but yes you usually can.
