This is my pic of the week form Moto GP2...

...myself as Max Biaggi taking a ride on Alex Barros' bike on the home stretch as Rossi tries to sneak up the outside (I continued the wheelie to beat Rossi and win the race).

I just need something that's better than my current card. My pc is really hi-spec. But I'm running a Matrox G550 32mb. Not suited for games at all.

I wouldn't agree. for a start, consoles connect to the TV without having dedicated monitors. TV's produce colour differently to VDU's, using oval pixels, in groups of three - red, green and blue. Those groups of three colours make up the image you see.

VDU's produce pixels of hundreds of millions of different colours, and said pixels are a lot smaller than TV pixels, meaning that the image is not only more accurate colour-wise, but much sharper as well.

To summarise, the debate about console vs computer graphics is old, but has already been concluded. The PC produces better, sharper graphics.

It is very unlikely that any X-box would even come close.

They beauty of PC though is that you can tweak as much as you like to get that quality/performance ratio set just right for your machine. You can't alter the hardware of the Xbox or mess around with it's drivers/graphics settings, at least nowhere near the level you can with any PC (I've never used Xbox but I have PS2 and it's nowhere near as good as my PC)

Actually, if you bother to read the readme file in the game folder you will see that they say 800x600 with full detailing (like mine) will look better than 1280x1024 Rolling Eyes

That's why it's called a README Thumbs Up

Only just got hold of a copy of the game, but here's a pic from my machine. The graphic card is a two-year-old Geforce 3 Ti 200. You can now pick something like this up dirt cheap and I reckon it does a good enough job.

Same card as mine, but too slow for my system really (p4 2.8 Presscott, Asus i865PE board), but it's really good for overclocking. Gonna get me a Radeon 9700 Pro! Thumbs Up

That pic's fine but with no anisotropic filtering or anti-aliasing it's a little jagged. Hence the Rad (dont get me started on graphics cards.... Wink )

Moto GP is on PC?! Ok, *cracks open www.supernova.org and ABC client*...

I'll post screens from my modded 9800 Pro (modded to XT via bios flash).

My card looks like this:

HIS Excalibur Radeon 9800 Pro IceQ - £170 on scan.co.uk.

Anything Radeon9x00 will be fine, as will any GeForce FX, or GeForce 4 Ti 4x00. My GF3 Ti200 works fine when overclocked, but no FSAA or anisotropic filter without tweaking the drivers.
