Seeing as I have 28 days of not being able to go on my bike, I'm going to use this time to do some mods and a few other things. One of them being, my 2 piece RST Rift suit has bust the zip on the jacket and won't zip up.

The zip that connects the pants to the jacket came away on one side almost weeks after I got it but never got round to fixing it.

What should I do? Get a new set of chunkier zips put on as the one's it came with are too small and flimsy? Do I have to get a specialist place to do this to make sure they are stitched in properly as I don't want them to come apart if I crash?

I'd take it to a specialist place yes.

You'll need to unstitch the leather and stitch the new zip in, so you'll need to find somewhere that has the knowhow and kit to sew leather.

I recommend Hideout Leather in Essex, but I don't know if they're local to you.

I'm in Wigan, so not very local haha. Stupid thing as well, thought they were covered by a 12 month warranty and I just checked, missed it by about 3 weeks!

To be fair there probably are some local leather workers, you'll just need to hang on for someone that knows your area.
