Going to be looking for a new bike shortly, and should have about £2k to spend. Preferably looking for a sports IL4, the bigger the better basically. What sort of thing could I be looking at for that kind of money?

Early R1's (Laughing) ? Early K model Gixxer 750's possibly?

Wouldnt mind sampling a twin, I like the look of SP-1's and TL-R/S's but they seem to be nearer £2.5-3K if I'm right? Just after some ideas really, as there's a lot out there to choose from.

Cheers, Thumbs Up

Are you selling a bike or just buying a new one, When you have a t595 and a gsxr1000, I don't see why you would want another big sports bike.

iv got a daytona t595 for about that money, but i think u had 1 of those didnt u? my best mates got a nice '99 fireblade (the 919) and thats very good to ride, plenty of power, very smooth and great handling!

EDIT: as said above, did u buy the daytona as well or was it a swap?

@ Recoil Jay - possible electrical or clutch issues?

You're wrong, they aren't. Thumbs Up

Engine's bomb proof.

Starter clutch can go if you try and start them with a weak battery.

Back brake is rubbish.

Side stand's rubbish.

The nuts and bolts corrode if not cared for, but I reckon that's pretty similar to a lot of bikes now.

But all of that's pretty easy to fix. Thumbs Up

Ah right, mis-informed then! I've always liked them but always been put off by tales of un-reliability and my own bad experiences with an RS125 but that's different I know but it's still mentally scarred me!

I'm not sure if that's a masterpiece or an atrocity?

For an RSVR, that looks fuck all like one, he's put some serious effort into modding that bike, I would actually buy that I think!

Well, suffice to say I'll be selling the Triumph.

Embarassed

As much as I've tried to get on with it, I just prefer IL4's, and having ridden a couple of twins now I fancy one of those possibly. It really does handle fantastically, but I cant help but want the top end rush of a 4, or the raw low down grunt of a twin. Obviously being a triple it sits somewhere in between and as time's gone on I've found it's not really the bike for me any more.
