Getting really fucked off using trying to use a G cramp to press the rivet on my RK520 EXW chain on. Masterclips are tedious and my hulk-like strength always breaks the bastards.

Recommend me a chain tool for pressing rivets on!

I have a Whale chain tool. Used to have a cheaper Motrax tool which was OK until it broke after 2 or 3 uses. The Whale has done four now and is going strong. A pleasure to use as well as it's so well designed.

Sorry, is this to actually rivvet it, or just press the plate on?

For solid rivets - whale.

For hollow and pressing - a screw-type tool.

Or just use a mole grip to push it on - I stick a nut over the rivet as it pushes through, so you can keep pushing.

To press the plate on. I'm having a dickens of a time trying to do it!

Owning chain tools is no bad thing, but I'd just use molegrips personally. Do half the time despite owning the proper tools, I've got one of these for pressing/hollow rivets;

this one https://bikespeeduk.com/epages/steer2916.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/steer2916/Products/CHAINTOOL
is very good for the money. (better than some at 50 quid or more)
not quite up to the standards of the whale, but still a good tool nevertheless,
cheers,
GAZ

I'm gonna give it another bash on the morrow with the wee nut over the rivet.
