Advanced Motorcycle Alarm v3 Positioning

I just wondered if anyone else happens to own or has previously owned this alarm system https://www.motorbikealarm.co.uk/node/27 so they can advise on how best to position the various components, because i've not been 100% satisfied with it from day 1 (don't get me wrong, for the money it's fine), and am still a little uncertain i've got them in the best places (it just feels a little less than ideal).

My first concern is the key fob range (which is, shall we say, rather shorter than the 3000m advertised - i'd be surprised if i can get much more than 50m in direct line of sight of the bike). I've been led to believe that the V-shaped thingy in the lower right hand corner of the diagram, is the bike-side receiver/transmitter for the key fob. The company advised that i should leave it in the bike so that it can't be ripped off (and i suppose that's only sensible), but where should i put it in the bike to get the best range possible? Right now it's under the seat, near the tail light (as i assumed there'd be less metal around there to block the signal), but is this restricting the range in any way? Is there a certain angle that may help range, or won't it make a difference?

The other concern is the microwave / movement sensor. Short of turning it up to maximum sensitivity (and noticing that it makes a fully charged 8Ah battery flat in a week when on full), it doesn't seem to detect movement well enough. I've found that by putting it just under the seat it works, but as i said, it needs to be set to full power there, limiting its use somewhat. If you turn it down even one "notch" (it has 5) then unless you literally wave your hand over the seat surface, it won't detect the movement with enough consistency to go off. So is there a better place to put it? (bearing in mind that again it needs to be out of sight, and that it can't detect through metals e.g. the tank).
