I've heard that if you send a £61 cheque for a £60 fine, they cant give you points or whatever until you cash the refund for the £1 they have to give you.

IMO, that's utter bollocks.

Or you'd get a cheque back for 0.02p. Wink!

That used to work but it doesn't now.

They'll use it to pay the fine.

Who issued the fine? Police council?

You'll probably get sent to court for not paying the fine if it's police and if it's council they'll now charge you more Laughing

They used to send you a check back with your change. But the system wouldn't update and put your points on your licence untill you cashed their check.

Not sure that trick works anymore though.

It's possible getting several fines in a day.

I knew this guy once who went past a camera and got flashed. He thought it was odd as he was within the speed limit so he turned around to see if it flashed other cars. On his way back he got flashed by the camera on the other side of the road so he figured they might be faulty and turned around again to go home. Got flashed again and he laughed it off.
6 days after he got 3 fines for not wearing his seatbelt all within the space of 2 minutes of eachother.

Yes i know it's an old joke Razz

Well I can see one of three things happening.
You get the 6 points or what ever pointage you are getting and you are out of pocket £0.02

You get the 6 points or what ever pointage you are getting and you get the £0.02 back

You get the 6 points or what ever pointage you are getting and you get summoned to court for trying to pervert the course of justice, and you could technically get up to life in prison for it....

Sending the wrong amount on the cheque is an old gag, the police are aware of it, so are the magistrates, I doubt you will get the third point, but it's worth bearing in mind, as technically you are perverting the course of justice by hoping that sending the wrong amount will stop you getting the points.

If they can't do you for one thing, they will try something else, fuckers, take it on the chin and try to make sure they don't get anymore of your money Thumbs Up
