Cloud, Clouds, More fecking clouds.

I know it was nice from March - June.

But now its absolute shxt. Well it is in Halifax, West Yorkshire

I've not had a lunch time ride in nearly 4 weeks. Due to the weather. Always dark, always gloomy. I've just about forgotten what the sun looks like.

Got a break from the rain for 4 hours last Sunday, evening. But that's about it.

It's bloody depressing me this shxt.

Think I've got seasonal affective disorder but its August.

And like an idiot I went to Spain in June, when the weather was nice here.

I was camping in Fort Bill Wednesday night. It didn't stop chucking it down all night, ended up with wet sleeping bags. It was worth it though, as I got to ride Aonoch Mor the next day.

Nope, the weather never affects my enjoyment of riding... don't know why, guess i'm just wired that way. Plusbeing a miserable so and so i like the rain Razz

What is does affect is my ability to carry girly pillions for rides to the coasts etc.. still i guess that's their loss.

I'm going to get pilloried for this, and believe me, I feel your pain, (it's the main reason I left the UK).

At the other end of the weather spectrum, it was 42 degrees C here, (Cyprus), last Sunday. Embarassed

Went for a quick bimble up the road, thought it might cool me down. Flipped my visor up to catch a face full of cool refreshing 80mph breeze to be hit by, what I can only liken to, the blast from a fan oven when you open the door.

Actually, we've only just got the rain you lot have been having for weeks. Apart from a couple of overnight downfalls, and a few sprinkles (but still hot), we've had 13 weeks of sun. I kid ye not! It's been brilliant. Thumbs Up

It started 4 weeks ago, just as I got a job and had to ride every day. At least I was unemployed during the nice weather so I could take advantage of it.
Got caught out in the 30 minutes of torrential rain on Thursday evening (either side of that 30 minutes it was sunny. My bloody luck) and got soaked to the bone.

And then there's a fucking Hose pipe ban on. Get fucked, I'm using my bastard hose pipe.

Bought some proper waterproof trousers today (Spada Milan-Tex). No doubt I will be able to write a decent review next week on their waterproof-ness.

Not as disappointed as I was in the previous three summers, particularly 2007, the worst ever. We had a dry and sunny if cool April and May down here in the south. Lovely most of June and first half of July. Dull but warm/dry second half. Pretty crap August thus far, with low temperatures (for summer), endless cloud and now frequent piss downs.

But I've managed about 6000 (non-commuting) miles on the RXS, 3000 on the Bandido, 1000+ on the GPz and about half a dozen good afternoons on the Husky since the beginning of April, so nothing at all to complain about.

M'eh.

The recent weather just means I don't use my dark visor as much.

out of interest what's Cyprus like on police, riding wise?

In general they couldn't be bothered, there are some mobile hairdryer squads on the motorways, but as they always use the same places you'd have to be a total moron to get zapped.

I've not tested this theory but I am lead to believe that you cannot be stopped/chased if you're on a bike, following an incident 2 or 3 years ago when a ped rider was killed.

In the mornings the roads are awash with school kids on peds, no helmets and no insurance, (they're too young), the police couldn't give a monkies! Shocked

The bike cops have Fireblades, which they use to get from one coffee shop to the next.

Helmets are compulsory, however due to a loop hole in the law you don't actually have to wear one, most of the locals just carry one.

I can only liken the driving experience, over here, to that of a participant in the "Whacky Races", never a dull moment!

I like cloud.

Sun + black leather = TOO HOT!!!

Even when moving I'm far too hot, Autumn and Spring are the best seasons for riding IMO (assuming you don't mind a bit of rain Thumbs Up ).

If you want to enjoy the hot weather rides do as I do and wear speedo's, the only time I got stopped by the cops was once the S had fallen off and I was riding passed a school Smile Thumbs Up
