Well i'm thinking of a gettign a boost bottle for my Rieju, What's the advantages and disadvantages ?

Well before you decide on a specific upgrade, I'd try to find out what (if anything) it actually does before you think about buying it.

As far as I'm aware, Boost bottles on single cylinder two strokes do very little apart from look a bit poncey.

Ok, cheers for the heads up. From what im aware of it stores the lossed energy and then transfers it next time i change gear i think ? Smile

i had a boost botle on my old 350lc and later 350powervalve and didnt notice any difference at all, all the 2strokers at the time raved about them but i just think it was more a fad than anything else, if you want more go from your 2stroke just send the motor to stan stevens/terry becket if they are still going, they were they kings of 2 stroke tuning in the 80's..

Actually boost bottles can make a difference to the RD350 powervalve engine as they store mixture which was shut off by the reed of one cylinder, and it is taken in to the second cylinder. The boost bottle on a twin has two holes, one for each intake and so allows the transfer of mixture from one to the other.

On a standard YPVS it doesn't make much difference, but it can smooth out the flat spots on a tuned one apparently. However, on a single I can't see any point other than providing more volume in which to waste petrol.
