Hi

Perfectly legal. Only possible issues would be a flip up lid that had been homologated as a full face lid, or if you wear glasses where it could be argued the glasses are eye protection so must have the relevant BS stamps.

All the best

There is a very good reason why this guy is employed as a Security Guard and not as a Police Officer.

Only glasses that need a BS stamp are safety spec's. All your normal spec's, while having pretty much the same level of protection don't.

Moer danger from the frame digging into your face that damage from the lenses Thumbs Up

Motorcycle eye protection must have the appropriate BS stamp (BS4110XA, YA or ZA), hence it could be argued that if your glasses are being used as eye protection without that stamp then they are illegal.

But it would need to be a pretty bored copper to try it.

All the best

Apparently the visor fell off my (full-face) helmet prior to me owning it, so I dunneven know where it is ... and I c.b.a. to buy a new one (visor or lid) ... so I have a permanent visorless gap.

Under ACU regs (At some tracks) they do make you wear eye protection. Prescott is the worse I know for this but the starter man will flip your visor down for you on the green light to stop misting.

He is talking rubbish, cruising with the visor up is one of life's great legal pleasures. Delicious breeze in your face as you ride, Fantastic.

Thing is though if you get pulled for having a tinted visor at night if you then lift it up the copper won't be satisfied.

Nor, i doubt, will he be if you take off the visor and put it in your bag and try to set off with no visor.

Only if you replaced it on the spot with a clear one would he let you on your merry way.
