Your bike is not restricted in any way, it is already making the maximum amount of power it can without loosing durability and reliability. Only the 2 stroke 125 bikes are restricted with the 4 strokes usually making a maximum of 11-14 bhp in single cylinder form so there is nothing can be done to make it any more powerful unless you have a few thousand quid to spend on it.

Hi

As above, although looking around the Marauder does seem to struggle to get any reasonable speed so seems likely they don't manage to make the 11kW that a learner is allowed.

All the best

You might be able to get a bit more power out of it but to be honest it would cost a fortune even to get it to 70 mph and a more powerful bike would cost less. Your bike is quite large and heavy for a 125 so will be slower than most, best leave it as it is as modifications will harm the engine and make the bike worthless, if speed is your thing go for one of the 2 stroke 125cc bikes as they are restricted but can only be legally deresticted after passing the test. Thumbs Up

Did you assume that it might be restricted? Or did your joker of a friend tell you that as a sick joke? If he did then shoot the Cnut!

well theres nothing in the air filter, nothing in the exhaust so the only things left are the DSI and the carb. if i cant find anything at all on it to make it faster ill just start buying some performance parts.

Seriously mate, you are wasting your time as there are no performance parts for your bike as it is designed as a cruiser and any form of tuning which would need to be done by an expert would cost more than the price of an off the shelf faster bike, you would need to have bigger valves fitted to the head, a high lift cam manufactured, an expensive carb fitted and modified to suit your bike plus an exhaust sytem and other internal engine mods. Then you would need to upgrade your suspension and brakes to deal with the extra power, cheaper to buy another bike thats designed to go quicker, yours isnt.

You could alter the front or rear sprockets, but what you gain one way, you will lose in another.

Op, if a cruiser is your thing then sell your bike and buy one of these secondhand for the same money or less, the Hyosung is a twin and is at the upper limit of the bhp available for a learner 125 and will top 70 mph and cruise at 60 mph all day, the downside is that the engine is very complex with 8 valves and 4 camshafts which does not lend itself to basic home maintenance. It is also a very large bike for a 125.

Im confused? Is the OP misinformed and thought his bike is restricted until told otherwise?

Or does he believe that all 125's are restricted and can be made to go faster by removing/modifying a certain part, and despite being told that this is not the case, either doesn't believe the advice he got, or is hoping that he can still find a magic restrictor device within his bike?

Or lastly does he know and accept that the bike is definately not restricted, but wants to tune the engine for more performance than std, anyway?

What i doubt very much is that he has realised that he has brought a bike he didn't want and finds underpowered/inadequate? If this is the case he certainely does'nt seem to want to admit to it on here!

+1

If you cant redline it currently, then go for 1 tooth down on the front, you will gain better acceleration and you might get a better top speed when nearer the limiter Thumbs Up
