Nothing exciting.....yet....pretty much standard.

I plan to do some bits to it, first things first...new exhaust and renthal bars...can't decide on the ultralows or the street fighters.....has anyone got any pics of them fitted to a hornet?

I also plan on doing a bit of powdercoating, getting some of the silver/chrome bits a nice black colour...

I'll keep the thread updated as I go!

It's definately a bit different to riding than my old Daytona 675....but lack of decent jobs has meant I've had to go for the downgrade.

Had a great ride home though, really enjoyed the different style of bike!

2003 bike, 16,000 miles, managed to get it for £1,800 which I think is a bit of a bargain!!

Anyone got any other reccommended mods? (And I'm not going to go for the old twin headlight mods - sorry!)

Looks tidy. Personally I'd just chuck some braided brake lines on it, and a race can. Thumbs Up

Sticky rubber. Get rid of mirrors/bar end mirrors, grab rail blanks (look in my thread for pictures), bellypan, seat cowl, fender extender (DEFINIATELY GET! Stops crap getting on the downpipes!)

You chose the best colour Wink

Yeah the mirrors have definitely got to go! They are really good for visibility, but they do look awful! Anyone got any alternatives?

Grabrail will he staying as I want to use it for more pillioning!

Seen a few of the 'motogp' style stubby exhausts on eBay, but they are all pretty expensive at the moment....Again, anyone got any pics of theirs?

Bellypan is in the cards, I'll probably colour match the rear hugger while I'm at it! Will have a look at undertrays perhaps.

Cheers for the replies!

Very nice, a later version of mine.

Renthals are a huge improvement, theres lots of info about modding Hornets on the Hornet's Nest site.

Next for me will be braided brake lines and some decent rubber. The Michelin Macadam mine has on the back is utter shite Laughing

Nice Thumbs Up

How much did the daytona go for if you don't mind me asking? I've been looking at them lately and the price seems to have shot up, you can't get one for less than 4k!

I'm not a huge fan of the bar end mirrors, nor am I a fan of whats on it right now. Infact....I'm not really a fan of mirrors....

These don't look too bad for £20....but I am undecided...
https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130404071632&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

I think the first change will be for Renthal Ultralow bars....I need to get some more weight over the front....it's feeling rather wobbly when I give it a push!

I really liked the bar end mirrors on my bandit, looked great and gave a really good view of the road behind. Much prefered them to normal mirrors. Each to their own Wink

Also, it's got Bridgestone battleax bt-021's fitted...the weathers been pretty poor recently so havn't had a good chance to test them...what are they like? How will they deal with this winter? If they are alright for winter I'll keep them on and then get something better in the spring...maybe corsa 3's.....

Why not get Corsa III scrubs off ebay and keep those for when winter does pick up? That's what I'd do.
