Well I'm bored and would like to get the opinions from the good people of BCF on my next purchase. I have around 5K to spend on a middleweight bike, it will be used all year round, mostly for weekend riding with some commuting.
CBR - My first choice, best all round 600 from the reviews, should hold it's value better then the competition, looks great, well built.
Triumph Street Triple R - Second choice, less focused but just as fun as the sports bikes, comfortable, sounds great, the Mrs will be comfy on the back, my only gripe is the build quality.
ZX6R - Just out of my price range but I'm sure I could find one for sub 5.5K over the winter, I have not sat on one yet but it's meant to be the class leader.
I have test ridden the Triumph but not the other two. ____________________ Honda SFX50 > Aprilia SR125 > Aprilia RS125 > Honda RFV400 > K4 GSXR600 > KTM Duke > C1H 636 > K3 GSXR1000 > Aprilia RSV-R > Triumph Street Triple R > Ducati 899 Panigale > Aprilia Tuono 1100 > Triumph Daytona 675R > KTM SuperDuke 1290 2.0

I've ridden older versions of the Kwak and the CBR in the past, and decided that they weren't for me.
I really like the look and the reviews of the Triumphs though, so I'm hoping to have a test ride on one before the summer is completely over.
Prob the best way to find out for yourself is to try them out if possible... after all, what suits me or anyone else won't neccessarily suit you ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N

id personally want the cbr mainly for vanity reasons ,
but to be fair it is over price in comparison to the ninja.
the cbr average used price start at £5000 for a 07 plate vs a ninja for £5500 on a 09 plate
the ninja is newer, more powerful, has a slipper clutch, and weighs only 2kg more.
some say the bpf have less feel then convention forks in wet weather conditions though.
but if money is the deciding factor you get more for your money with the kwak
the triple just comes down to whether or not you want a sports bike ____________________ they say the good die young... i say we just live faster

the way i see it,
the only thing the kwak lacks... is looks.
imo its not a very pretty bike, but i gladly live with that for the performance benefits. so if your good with the its appearance, then i don't really see what the cbr can offer over it.
so then it comes down to do you want a naked or a sports bike?
if the triple was cheaper imo it would be a better contender.
but paying the same for a naked which is a essentially meant to the sports bike with out the fairings and lower class components would make me question if im getting the most for my moneys ____________________ they say the good die young... i say we just live faster |

I agree. I think it's going to come down to whatever is available for the best price when I actually have the money to spend. ____________________ Honda SFX50 > Aprilia SR125 > Aprilia RS125 > Honda RFV400 > K4 GSXR600 > KTM Duke > C1H 636 > K3 GSXR1000 > Aprilia RSV-R > Triumph Street Triple R > Ducati 899 Panigale > Aprilia Tuono 1100 > Triumph Daytona 675R > KTM SuperDuke 1290 2.0 |
