Bought myself some 'GoldFren' brake pads about 2 months ago for the zx7r, and the rears have already worn completely down, after about 2000miles.
Am i riding like a tool (hope not)? Are these crap pads? Or do you reckon its a problem with the calliper possibly seazing?

Depends how much and how hard you use your rear brake really, my rear tends to run out far sooner than the fronts as I use it a lot more, there's also only one set of pads at the back rather than 2, they don't run out after 2000 miles though, more like 15,000 miles I think. Lift the back end up and spin the wheel to see if the pads are binding, if you can't do that go for a spin without using the rear brake at all and then check if the disc is warm at all. Of course it might not be binding as significantly anymore if the pads have worn down to compensate.

It may just be that Goldfren pads are rubbish, I was looking for pads on ebay for a friend recently and came across those, as they were being sold by busters I figured they were unlikely to be a totally rubbish brand but I have never heard of them before. Just get some EBC, Ferodo or Carbone Lorraine for the next set, all good makes and don't cost more than a couple of quid more than Goldfren.

Search "GoldFren" on here as there have been plenty of posts on them.

If they are wearing out that fast, are you sure the rear is not binding, or are you riding with your foot resting on the rear brake.

How hot is the disk after a ride. Unless you are using it hard it should only be warm, not hot.

I just replaced worn out ferodo pads with goldfren, and the new pads have nowhere near the bite or stopping power of the previous ones.
They do stop you though Razz

Had a similar problem recently with a set of Armstrong pads. Turns out the return spring in the caliper was sticking, causing the pads to rub the disks

i have used GoldFren in the past... never again, no bite, don't last long, in short Poo.

i'm currently using (well was until i took the bike apart...) Carbone Lorraine A3+ sintered pads, best pads i've had so far, good bite in all conditions and good feel too.
