why does my r1200c put out white smoke on start up?

should be nothing to worry about.
as long as it is not smoking out the road.
them particular bikes are quite smoky until they get properly warm if i remember correctly.

Often bikes with a cylinder pointed 'down' like that when on the sidestand can burn off a bit of oil when first started up.
My old BMW R100 used to, but not as bad as Danny's K75 where all three cylinders are pointed that way!
