Valentino Rossi, 2009 TT R1

Just how does a bike shop in Oldham (Nr Manchester) come about a machine like this? Wouldn't like to know what considered as a serious offer though Shocked

Meh, it's just a standard R1 with some stickers on it, and the god awful pink frame.

Agreed here too.

Am I the only one that thinks the new R1 light set up is super fugly in comparison to their older models?

isn't the frame meant to be red Confused ?,
could be anodized, which has the tendency to go a pink colour

Nice to see they added some credibility to the sale by sticking a cardboard cut-out of Rossi next to it Laughing

It's not as though he raced the thing either, he just tootled round on a demo lap. It's nowhere near the same league as proper ex-race bikes. It's barely more interesting than a paddock scooter.

I think the older one looks better also....but....if you go and watch any bike racing live, where obviously the bikes have no lights, and all look VERY similar, the R1 is rediculously obviously an R1.

I dn't know if that's how they designed it, but it's one theory I have. Also, Yamaha say that where the vents are now allows alot better airflow for ramair.

Depends on the school of engineering you go too.

The school of thought 10 years ago was to have the ram air duct in the middle as that's the highest area of air pressure on the front of the bike. More air pressure in the air box = MOAR POWAH

If they're so good for airflow, why aren't moto GP bikes using them.

The guy who won the raffle for it didn't like it so traded it in for a Triumph Thruxton. It certainly wasn't worth a great deal more than any other 09 R1 when it was traded in.

I don't live far from that shop and have never felt so uncomfortable in a shop before as I did whilst in there.

There were two blokes who worked there watching our EVERY move, listening intently to everything we said, and chimed in unwantedly to whatever we were talking about. Fair enough it's a small shop, but I thought they could have been a bit more polite and let us browse. My mate then decided to go closer to a bike to look at the instrument panel, one of the blokes must have thought he was going to sit on it or something and shouted across the room DOOOOOOON'T!! and frightened us both half to death.

Safe to say I won't be going back there in a hurry.
