Soon me and my girlfriend will be commuting to and from college, and want to be able to talk to eachother.

now i know this is a commonly asked question, but we want something that we can use for both, shorter and longer journeys, that doesnt cost a fortune.

say up to around £30 ?

whats are the best options?

thanks!!

I've seen something called 'scala' at work and they allow 3 way chat which is pretty cool, no idea how much they are I'm afraid Laughing

Oxford bike mike is OK under 50mph, you need to yell a bit above that and at motorway speeds it becomes useless. You can get them for around the £30 mark from Argos I think.

Don't do it!!!!

You won't be able to get your missus out of your head. I'd rather ride in silence. Just tell her the systems cost £500.00 or something. An Ipod with some good tunes is a much better investment.

Ive used the cheap setups and they are not bad below 60 ish but anything over me and the misses could not hear each other. Take a look at these they are cheaper than the scala version:

I used to use one of the acoustic systems when I used to commute with the missus all the time. No batteries, less affected by wind noise and hard to break. Even when the system filled with water in a storm it was just a case of blowing out the water and carrying on.

https://backchat-intercoms.com/index.html

Still a bit useless at motorway speeds, but I have yet to find a bike intercom that works at 80mph+.
