Tyres... Sorry!

Right I'm back on a Hornet for now which I got dirt cheap. C+S need sorting, brakes too.

But one major thing is the tyres. They're shit.

And with this Hornet having an annoying 16" wheel (Don't mind them, just the tyre choice!) I seem to be limited...

What are these two tyres like? Sticky, feedback, etc. I plan to do lots of stoppies, wheelies and getting as low as possible!

Dunlop Sportmax Qualifier II
Bridgestone Battlax BT-016

Apparently the fronts are roughly £100 or so so would make me think "nice sticky tyres" but would like to hear peoples experiences

Edit:

Tyres need to be 130/70/16 for the front and 180/55/17 for the rear.

Hello mate, my Dad's got the Bridegestone BT 016s on his hornet with the 16 inch front wheel, he really rates them says the grip is great really confidence inspiring.

It has to be said though that the only comparison he has is whatever rubber he had on his RD 250 30 odd years ago

I have the Qualifiers on my CBR. Not had a problem with them. Warm up fairly quick and give plenty of grip, dry or wet. They do cool down pretty fast, something to watch out for if your stuck at lights. Mileage is a bit questionable, anywhere from 3k to about 6k. I reckon I've had about 3 out of mine at the moment and the rear will need changing in about another 1000.

I'm used to supergrip from the 090's on the NC30 so I want really sticky rubber where I can push it and not spit (unless I do something silly).

I went to watch my dad do the Ron Haslam race school and they were using 016's on all of the bikes there, Ron Haslam was doing 2 up laps on a Blade on 016's too with no issues and he was really flying around.

Guess I jut don't like using tyres I don't know Had a corsa III on the rear and normal Corsa on the front before I crashed my Hornet... Though I wasn't nowhere near as quick rounds corners as I was with the NC30. And I don't have the confidence in these tyres for that.

I've used both tyres before and liked them.

I found the BT016's had a 'sharper' profile, they seemed to fall in very quick.
The Qualifiers had a lovely 'rolling' sensation when you cornered.

Other than that there isnt a lot of difference gripwise.
If i had to choose between them i think i would go for the Dunlops though as they did last a bit longer.

Got the Bridgestones on my Triumph. More than enough grip in the wet and dry. No complaints from me. No idea how they will cope with wear but seem good so far after 1200 miles.

But had a pair of Bridgestone BT016's put on my RR, and i must say, they are completely pants, suicidal tyres.

Fine if you potter about, but for someone that really pushes hard i wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

Being sold on ebay, and putting my 2ct's back on thanks.

I'm changing my tyres across to Qualifiers on recommendation. Just had the front and it cost me £90 fitted (120/60/17). Still new so can't comment on performance yet!

I've had a couple of pairs of 016s now, I find them really good at first when new, but after about 1000 miles they seem to 'go off' if that makes sense, i dont get the same feel out of them then.

I've been Bridgestone through and through for years (014, 015 and 016), even 020 one winter on the 03 RR.

I wouldnt mind looking at a change though just to see..

I had 016's on my Fireblade. Loads of grip but no feel IMO.

The Rosso's are ok, but don't offer the cold grip the Michelins do.
