Hi folks,

Can anyone suggest me a good place/application to download individual tunes? I used to use Limewire many moons ago but don't know if it's worth d/l it again as things surely have mooved on since then.

I have been d/l from https://vmp3.eu which is alright because you can download right from the website. However it's not very broad with the songs that are on there.

So any suggestions would be welcomed. Had enough of using pirate pay and having to browse through a plethora of albums to get one frigging song.

Thanks.

Five USA cents per track here, no faffing around and good quality. You have to put $30 straight in but worth every cent imo. Very rarely have they not had a track I've wanted, even obscure ones.

Youtube.com + Free YouTube to MP3 Converter.

Has nearly every song i've looked for, & some are extremely rare that they can only be found in a dusty vinyl shop in London, but someone's still uploaded it. So pretty much everything. Quality is really good, downloads don't depend on internet speed.

Will only use the above now, unless i need an album then i'll use torrents.

I've got a mixture of tracks ripped from a CD & tracks from Youtube & can't tell the difference. You can adjust the quality it downloads the songs in too.

Just tried it in work and it didn't work. Must be the security we have here. I'll give it a bash back home. How quickly does this work?

around 64kb/s is normal for the audio quality from youtube.. If you're listening to it on a high end stereo you may notice difference from a track off youtube to a track you've ripped in lossless or 320kb/s off a cd/etc

It can be pretty good for the rarer tracks though and easier/quicker to use than downloading albums just for 1 track..

Same here. Also comes in handy when the torrent sites let you down.

What did you do? You copy/paste the Youtube link into the software box & it'll start to convert it, usually takes around 2 minutes or so. make sure the Youtube video/audio is a good copy tho.

Yup, also easier to browse then the usual downloads sites & you can 'preview' every song before you get it which is cool.

The Pirate Bay really sucks, those are the words of the co-founder of the site. Laughing

https://www.btjunkie.org/ is alright, it's easy enough to find any music tbh.

https://www.dnbtracker.org is good if you're after dnb type music.

Whatever you choose to do, please don't pay for pirated music. Thumbs Up

Why not? 5c for top-quality tracks and a superb service. Compared to Apple's 79p per track (DRM'ed to uselessness) vs the ass-buggery of torrents and the like, it's a no-lose situation.

I just see it as being incredibly unnecessary to pay for something that is pirated. You're paying 5c for the very same mp3 files that can be downloaded for free quite easily elsewhere. The fact you're paying for it doesn't make what you're doing any more legal.

The piracy sites offering music cheaply haven't done all their own encoding, they're just selling the mp3 files that are available on all p2p networks and other usual sources of pirated material.

It's not about neccessity, it's about convenience. You may find torrents easy to use, I've never found them anything other than a total ballache 95% of the time. Which is why I stopped using them a long time ago. Fake files, incomplete files, corrupted files, passworded files, glacial download speeds, the ratio of shite to quality was 95% to 5%.

I'm happy to pay 3.5p for a quality track I can put in the search-box and be playing three minutes later.
