here it is swapped it for my gpz500 that was slowly falling apart, think of it as my work in progress, its a l reg and very tidy really apart from the tank graphic and rad cover, already done a few things like new tyres, renthals, bar end mirrors, goodridge hose, and debaffled the micron.
next on the list is polished engine casings, swingarm and few other bits, and paint job in maybe pearl white? hmm
anyways here it is
Thumbs Up

Very comfy aren't they?
Reckon they get overlooked when it comes to '1st big bike' for example.

Happy rides Thumbs Up

I was reading about these last night. There's a CB500 forum that's closed down now but has loads of good stuff on it.

Here it is:

Reason i said they're comfy is yesterday me and the g/f went bike sitting.
The CB500F we tried out was middle of the road...which is good. Thumbs Up
[ramble]
She is small and didn't like the feeling of being sat so far away from me on the Honda XL1000V and the BMW R 1200 S. And i felt too upright. The surprise of the hour or so of sitting on bikes and trying to balance 2up was the Fireblade. No issues with heels touching exhausts. Not too heavy on the wrists.Damm must be bad riding an R6 or GSXR600 round town. And the seats pads. Not for me.

My head says get a CB500.

My soul says otherwise.

Yes.

My Girlfriend's tiny, and can't even reach her little arms around me to brace her weight on the tank when we're braking, and the seat must be angled slightly forward, because I always seem to end up with her against my back, and my nuts getting friendly with the tank, which makes it even harder for me to use my knees to brace my bodyweight, so when braking with her on the back, it's pretty much mine and her bodyweight (about 25 stone) going through my arms! Not much fun!

I actually pussied out of dropping her in London on it on Sunday night, just wouldn't have been any fun at all, and I was fairly tired.

Higher speed work is ok; cruising at 85-90 lets the wind take some of the weight, actually surprisingly comfortable, so long as I'm smooth rolling on and off the throttle.

B roads and such are interesting, bike's very stable, so long as she's relaxed and not fidgeting, but braking has to be done early, and gently to prevent inadvertent castration!

Woman needs to pass her driving test, the bike's supposed to be my toy!

Edit - also worth noting that because of the height of the pillion seat, the centre of gravity becomes much higher with a passenger, which I found out to my cost the other day.

Basically, wasn't riding as I should with a passenger, following a car through a tight right, knowing full well there was a narrow bridge the other side. As I'm still coming round the corner, the car in front slams on very late to give way to oncoming traffic. Cue a fairly sharp stop as I straightened the bike up, but the bike not standing up as I had hoped.

Before I'd even stopped, the right foot was out, trying to push the bike back upright, I wasn't too worried initially to be honest, if there'd been nobody on the back, I would have saved it 100 times out of 100, but the missus' bodyweight was already on that side from braking round the corner, and I could feel the bike going down.

Looked in my mirror just in time to see her make a very sound decision, casually sliding off the seat onto her feet, wandering round to the left hand side of the bike, and remounting (using my peg as a step, she's that short) as though nothing had happened. Didn't get a chance to look at the inevitable bemusement on the face of the bloke in the car behind, as her signal to say 'I'm comfy and good to go' (double pat on both of my shoulders) came just as the car in front moved off, and I followed on, as though nothing had happened.

Now I get to tell the story at the pub of the time my girlfriend fell off the bike, but I didn't. Mint.

I like CB500, especially in that colour. My favourite colour scheme since 1997 when I saw it first time Thumbs Up

I'll probably buy a Bandit for winter though.

It's not my race bike, it belongs to a mate Thumbs Up He's quick on it I can't remember any of the times he's gotten, but I know it's in the lower end of the 1.20's at Snetterton (I want t say he was running either 22's or 24's)
