Linux web-browser issue

Linux has a biggie issue afterswitching to it on unbuntu...

Quite often adverts popup in windows, on my windows DELL you can alt f4 them or ctrl+w them, but in Linux firefox (unbuntu) they appear to be completly unclosable and will not even let me out of the screen its one of those nasty party poker things.

Any ideas how to prevent this in the future?

Try F11 if not use alt+tab and you should beable to close it from the task bar

don't use firefox. have had a few problems in the past.
opera has performed much better for me

Yeah you have the choice of some other decent browsers in Ubuntu. I use Epiphany pretty much exclusively now and it's so bloody fast, being based on WebKit rather than Gecko. Give it a go.
