Exhaust looking very shiny

i need my manifold to look the dogs bollocks to put it simply, ive tried very fine wet and dry along with a small polishing head on dremel but it seems to be getting me no where :/

whats the best way to get a nice shiny set of down pipes???

shall i just get them chromed?? or .... anywhere people know that sell performance downpipes???

Are the Hornet pipes stainless? if so and they arn't to bad then you should be able to bring them up nicely by hand with wire wool and metal polish.

If they are mild steel, then they would be de-rusting chemically or blasting. Then the only thing you can do is have them nickel plated which would look ok.

The std Hornet downpipe's are not that pretty though, and on a project like your's a nice performance full system with stainless header's would look very cool IMO! Can the CBR6 aftermarket pipes be made to fit maybe?

no the cbr pipes come up to the side for the link pipe wheras the hornet pipes come up through the swingarm :/

i cat seem to find any aftermarket ones though my link pipe is going to be all shiny as this is being custom made to fit my end can and i want my headers to be shiny

ive gone at them with the wire wool but they have alot of dis colouration in them due to them being 12 year old :/

They are stainless.

Basically just need to get rid of all the corrosion, then polish them up, loads of people have done it, just takes time.

Depending how bad they are you can easily do it with wirewool and autosol.

If they're really bad then buy a polishing kit. My current set looks awesome.

What sort of corrosion is on them?

If it is small rust patches and discolouring from heat/use then go to a building suppliers (i.e. Wickes) and buy some brick acid (brick and mortar cleaner). brush it on, leave for 2 minutes then hose it off, strips all the crap and the pipes look awesome.

If it is small scratches etc etc then wire wool and a polishing mop on an electric drill should sort it.
