It looks like a very old car, but how can such an old US car's suspension cope with that bumpy Nord Schleife wow.

Sounds like the engine was hunting a bit. Needs a bit of a tune up. perhaps some halfords spark plug and a cup holder will help. Didn't see any "This car runs on Fairy dust" signs either.

its not really a dumb question at all as the average buyer does not likely use the vehicle for any of its benefits (if they have any Confused )
same with the average SUV driver etc

I had an F250 6.8l V10 when I lived over there. We used it for towing the horse box and carrying bales of hay when we bought it in bulk.
Everyone has a pickup over there, it's not uncommon for the chief exec of a company to rock up to a meeting in his pickup.

They also sound rather special, and mine was selectable 4 wheel drive, so most of the time it was rwd and would drive most places sideways Laughing

Sorry, didn't mean to wind you up Neutral

Genuinely, what does it do that isn't done massively better by something else that probably also costs less?

I always assume when I see one that the person driving it just likes it because it looks huge and intimidating when you drive up behind old ladies on the motorway; am I wrong? Do they have some other qualities or are they the 4 wheeled equivalent of a Harley Davidson?

This. There's no use for them in the UK imo.

Off road 4x4? Get a land rover/range rover.
Vehicle to carry stuff? Get a transit/sprinter van.

That's just my view anyway... I know a guy who has a mitsubishi warrior l200 similar to the pic below... The main reason he bought it was the ride height as it makes him feel better being above everyone else. Confused

I bet they're massively more likely to roll over than most large cars in an accident actually.

These sort of vee-hickles are currently top of my 'driven by inconsiderate arseholes' list, narrowly pipping Audi owners to the top spot.
They are also placed fairly highly in my 'worst driven vehicles' list too.

Yeah... I don't understand why he got it other than to rub his own ego, but that's just how he is. Me personally would have spent the money on a new bike and a proper 4x4 (land rover defender 110!)..

Toyed with the idea of getting a Warrior myself, but the missus won't let me have one. Volvo estate next time, apparently.
