Dead CG - any suggestions??

hiya, hello and help!
This is probably a dumb question, but please be charitable as i am a bike newbie! why when i took my honda cg 2007 for a short run to the petrol station and home again (cos i forgot my wallet) is it now as dead as a door nail. no lights, nothing from the starter, nothing at all ... i am completly new to bikes and have the feeling I am just being totally dense and missing the obvious. I can't see any loose connections, fuses seem fine, tried switch to reserve and back again incase i really really did need petrol ... any other suggestions? basically help, please!

update - some thing some where has to be loose, now i just have to figure out what ... i have managed to get lights and indicators back .. i have no idea how.. no neutral light however ... it would help if i knew what i had done ... so now i need power to the electric start ...

the kill switch is where exactly? - sorry really new, really really new...... and the fuses seem fine, well they look like they say they should

If the CG has one, it's usually on the switchgear on the right hand side, next to the throttle. Usually a big red switch - if there's one flick it to the other setting and try firing up the bike.

don't have one ... but thanks anyway ..

Check the connections onto the battery terminals.

if they are dirty remove the battery clean both connections and terminals and if needed charge the battery

is the ignition switch playing up? where you the put the key in of course. wiggle while holding down the starter button and see if works. I imagine the bike is kept outside?

I still have no idea what it was I tried all the suggestions and checked every cable i could find. The neutral light is still eratic but i am going to wait for daylight to try and figure that one out

Is the sidestand up or down when you're trying to start it?

If the neutral light's dodgy you might find you can't start it on the side stand.
