Was wood staining my bros new garden furniture today ... ... loads of the stuff .. anyway .. had a good mooch round his shed, he has one of those sets and some halfrauds pro spanners ...
So i'm thinking it would be easier and cheaper to just turn up at his when he's at work and use at my leisure .... i mean it's only 4 miles away and i could do with not spending 300 quid on stuff he already has ...
Just did not know much about this Blue range ....

Bluepoint tools are decent, but they aren't actually made by snap on. They are bought in then branded "bluepoint". Normally you can get equivalent tools for cheaper just because they don't say bluepoint on them so you are paying a bit just for the name.
I hear the tools are actually made by lazer so just buy laser tools and save a bit of money. they're like half the price.
https://www.lasertools.co.uk/
If I were you then I would have kept the socket set with the broken ratchet. The ratchets are the only things likely to break and even without two working ratchets it's worth more than 35 quid imo.
I can't find the bluepoint socket set on there so it is possibly made by a different brand. |

If they are supposedly under the name / guise of snap on, then they are either just lazer and overpriced .. or do snap on have any contribution to spec etc ... that lazer must adhere too ... i imagine they are just the same with diff packaging ,, ____________________ Fuk um !! |

Hi
Fairly sure that Blue Point are not made by Snap On but sourced from other suppliers and sold on by the Snap On organisation. Not sure they are Lazer (but are Lazer just a UK brand, as f so unlikely that US Snap On would use them although Snap On might use the same suppliers as Lazer).
I have some Blue Point T bar allen keys. While they are fine they are nothing special quality wise and are identical to another T bar allen key of some random make I bought a few years later.
All the best

If I was your brother, you'd be waking up to find your bike a burnt out wreck in the front yard tomorrow |

Honestly mate, ask him if you can borrow his shit. He paid for it so he deserves to be able to choose what he does with it.
10 bacon rolls and 30 coffees sounds fucking awesome to stain a fence if it's family. Sometimes it's ok to do things without any sort of financial gain for someone. I am doing a bit regularly, and because of other people like me I have that sort of thing quite seen some decent gains from it.
Seriously mate, ask him. A few bits of metal are not worth possibly jepordising a relationship between you and your own blood. |
