The bits you took out wer`nt that bad at all.
I`ve run bikes with pistons and barrels a lot worse than that (shame on me).
Hope it all goes back together as well as it came apart ____________________ I am the sum total of my own existence, what went before makes me who I am now! |

That barrel will probably end up on ebay, somebody who needs a re-bore can buy it and have that one done so the bike is only off the road for a matter of hours rather than days/weeks depending on the engineering company they use
The bike ran fine, started first kick usually and would pull 60 on the flat, had 70 once down hill (Damn my broad shoulders, got the aerodynamics of a parachute ) and it had noticeably better acceleration than the training school bike I have been using (a 2002 CG with less miles)
Off out soon for a litre of mineral oil, all the stuff I have 'in stock' is semi synthetic or fully synthetic |

20 miles later and it has totally stopped smoking, feels like good compression and now I've had a good fiddle with the idle mix and speed it has stopped cutting out at the most annoying moments, like in the middle of a 4 lane traffic light controlled roundabout |

Just had a look and the oil rings are stuck solid at least I know it will be fine for years to come now... Probably why my mate wants it when I move up to something bigger, says he knows by the time I sell it the thing will be mint |
