I like.

Much better than the LC/RGV crossbreeds that look terrible!

What swingarm is it? Off another bike or a braced 'arm specificly for a LC?

Beautiful.
I cant stand it when people mess about with LC's and ruin them.
That looks spot on Thumbs Up.

It is a Metmachex for the LC, came with the bike when i bought it but we had to do this to it to make the wheel and tyre fit

https://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p47/2smokeforever/PICT0022-5.jpg

Also the front mudguard had to be cut in half an plastic repaired wider to clear the wider tyre and match the wider forks

That is what i want to do with the x7. Modernise, but not change the retro looks.

Nicely done, some nice mods whilst keeping the essence of the LC. Particularly prefer those wheels over the original, too.

Show us an example then Rolling Eyes

I've been into Yamaha 2t's for just over 20 years and the OP's bike is one of the best executed and tasteful examples I've ever seen.

+1

A prime example of a ruined LC is the RGV/LC 'thing' posted up above...

Its too common now.

Firstly thats a really lovely LC resto with a twist. I love the way you have tried to keep it looking as original as possible, i didn't even spot the TZR motor straightaway it's that subtle! Well done, be very proud!

Secondly it's not just LC's that are commonally built into specials with bits of more modern sportsbikes grafted on. There are alot of 70's and 80's bikes with fairly flexy less than rigid frames by modern standards, and grafting big stronge USD front ends and monoshocked rear's with huge braced swinging arms is popular on lots of old muscle bikes and always will be, even if it doesn't result in the best possible handling or has a chassis that can't exploit the upgraded suspension, brakes and extra ground clearance on offer.

I do like the Suzuki GT750/GSXR1000 specials alot, but i know full well that building one does not neccassarily make for a better looking or better handling bike overall. It's just nice to see people take on the engineering challenge of making something new and something old fit together and work. I don't think people neccassarily build bikes like LC/RGV hybrids to get a really sweet handling sharp steering weapon of a bike, it's more for the challenge and to stand out with something a bit different from all the OEM resto jobs that often can get way out of hand when it comes to trying to re-create originality at all costs.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
